Have you ever said your username out loud and been embarrassed?

Long story short, I was discussing forums with a friend of mine today and mentioned boards.ie was probably the best. He said he used forums, too, and asked what was my username...I was little uneasy that he asked...but after I told him mine, I felt mortified, lol.

Have you ever said your username out loud and been embarrassed in a similar situation?

I have but only because it seems that I'm the only person who pronounces it properly.

There's always an awkward moment when I meet a boardsie and I have to say what my username is. I really wish I had picked something like EpicSexyMan instead for moments like that.

Once my ex manager came up to me, in front of other staff members, and asked me if I was "bogeyassedbogman". To add insult to injury, I had to correct her and tell her that it was actually boneyarsebogman, much to the amusement and bemusement of my co-workers.

I have but only because it seems that I'm the only person who pronounces it properly.

    Frah-dah?

Is it Fray-da or Fra-da or neither?

No considering it forms half of my real name.

My friends have rung up my house looking for me via my username and my parents were able to put them through.

So basically, you told someone your boards username and then come on and post a thread about how you now feel mortified?

Imagine how you will feel when they read this thread ... and know who you are!

I told them I was making this thread.

Hm, I was thinking it might've been Fray-da. I would get unbelievably pissed off if everybody kept getting it wrong.

Yeah.. at the beers last year I was a bit embarrassed at first by having to introduce myself. Not by my username per se.. just the fact that I'm me

You do realise that we're all going to call you Frah-Dah now that we know it annoys you?

Can it be changed or does a new ac have to be created.

If you subscribe, you are entitled to a name change, if I've got that right?

Annoy me? Don't be silly, nothing is more validating than being right while everyone else is wrong. I'll just be content in my correctness when that happens.

My username was my nickname already, handy that! I hear and say it all the time.

What was emabarrassing though, was having a friend who worked in xtravision put my name on the card as 'lands leaving' and trying to explain it every time I get a dvd.
