Can you use a bus pass to get a discount at the cinema?

I have a bus pass myself. I remember before at Turners Cross in Cork when Cork City Football Club were playing a man showed his pass and got a discount. I think I saw it happen at a cinema before too.

    Does anyone know?

Some cinemas offer a special needs discount rate. A cinema employee in general would have to ask for some form of proof, unless 100% obvious, though most availing of this discount would ask and have their proof ready, and this is generally the free travel pass that they get. You might think it cruel to ask for proof, but you'd be amazed at how many times people think that having a broken leg gives them a special needs rate.

That is probably what you saw.
