What I meant by light use was people who started out light and then began overusing it, so that wasn't a good way of putting it. The difference between this and alcohol is I also know people who are the salt of the earth, but get totally out of control when drunk. But that's for a few hours a week. Stoners are constantly smoking the stuff.

Maybe that's a highfalutin view of things, but it's still the way I see it. I'm not a snob, I don't generally tend to judge books by their covers; these are people I know.

Did it every weekend for a couple of years,is expensive and **** waste of money buying it here as its cut up so many times the amount of coke your actually taking is small.Glad them days are behind me.

Likewise - came back from S America, and first time I was offered it here I turned it down. After Bolivia, you know whatever you get is going to be a step down.

Never taken it since. Not in a huge rush to either.

I took it once after drinking a bottle of vodka, and let's just say the results weren't pretty. I basically poisoned myself and threw up for six hours straight. I was eighteen, depressed, and impulsive. I won't knock it, though. People can do what they want with their own bodies, and I've had some decent experiences on the softer drugs, though as I've gotten older, I definitely see the appeal of them less.

I know lots of people who were hard into coke during the boom. My ex-girlfriend used to kill the stuff and ended up an emotional wreck. Week after week she'd take it, never really processing anything that was happening. My friend's father also went off the rails with it a little bit and ended up being arrested with a gearbag-full in the boot of his car. I'm sure there are loads of people that use it every now and then, though, and have a bit of fun. It couldn't be worse than alcohol from a societal point of view.

Yep, lovely stuff.
The only problem i would find with it (apart from the fact it can get a "bit" unhealthy)
is that you need to do something else to enjoy it ie; go to the pub and drink gallons (that only hit you when the C wears off) or run up a mountain etc..
I prefer a smoke of "good quality" watching a sunset to nice music.

Tried it twice.
First time i thought it was amazing, everything was bigger brighter better.
Second time i took it i was the same but i felt the kick didn't last for long so i wanted more. That was when i realised how easy it could be to get addicted.

Yeah, I can't see the point in it at all and I've tried stuff that was called good by somebody who's taken proper coke in the States. Normally, I've a low tolerance for anything, but I could take a bucketload of coke and not feel a thing other than a blocked nose. It's the celery of the drug world for me.

Don't you think that the odds of your friend being wrong are greater than the odds of one of the most powerful stimulants in the drug world not working on you.

Anyway, from what I was told, apparently they export the best stuff for profit, what you get down there is not the best.

Tried it before but was mixed up with speed also.
I had been drunk and after it hit i just felt extremely sober.
Havent had it since, doubt i will eitger with the ridiculous price.

Well since you are a human being (I assume) you must have the same physiology as the rest of the human race, and if you took good quality cocaine properly, you would defiantly know about it (unless you had another drug in your system that could counter or hide the effects).

I have never tried cocaine! I drink alcohol on a regular basis and have often made a complete arse of myself due to drinking to excess. However, I enjoy a few pints and I get a buzz from it.

I will never try illegal drugs purely for the reason that I would be contributing to an industry that is run by absolute scum that are terrorising people in every corner of our country. These people have more money than I ever will on the back of thier mini drug empires. Unfortunately, most social drug users do not make any connection between thier saturday night line and the scum that have pedalled the drugs down the chain. They generally absolve themselves from all responsibility of irelands growing drug problems!

Yes. You assume correctly that I'm human!

All that I know is that I have tried cocaine in the same quantities as others and I have not got the buzz they said they were getting. I wouldn't mind, but I'm normally a lightweight when it comes to stuff like this.

And the thing I found about coke is, for me, weirdly, quantity doesn't seem to make a difference. The more you drink, the drunker you get. Same with most drugs - the more you take, the more the effect. But one festival weekend when coke was the only thing available, a few of us went through a whole lot of it, and it didn't matter if I had a line or if I had ten, I didn't feel happier, sadder, more chatty, less chatty - anything! I'm sure it wasn't tip top quality at all. My point was that somebody who had taken proper coke found this stuff to be effective and I didn't. Maybe I just have a very high tolerance for sub standard coke.

And it costs a fortune!!!

sorry for jumping on you in particular, it's just so many times in life I've heard people saying this or that doesn't have an effect on them and the reason is always to do with the quality or manner of ingestion.
Also some people can actually be compleeetly off their heads and not even know it, (I've smiled with my mates at people like that a few times in life

)
Cocaine is a very strong drug and has a very real (and dangerous) physiological effect.
If I was still into doing that stuff (which I'm not), I could invite you round for some of the real stuff and then we would see if it has an effect

Spent 3 months in Bogota during a stint in South America..

You can get very good quality coke for 4-5 euro a gram. If you buy in bulk you can get it for around 3 euro.

Different grades but you wouldn't want the best quality as you are so wired you can't speak after it. The highest quality you will get is about 70% unless your taking it direct from the factory. Anyone who says otherwise is talking through their hole.

Surprised to see how few Colombians actual consume. Same as the dutch and their weed. Would make you wonder?

Anyways you'd be hard pushed to fork out 70-80e a gram in Ireland which is at most 10-15%, and most likely recycled meow meow..

Nah - not unless you count getting shot up with lidocaine at the dentist. I've heard that some dealers cut their coke with lidocaine, so that it feels stronger than it actually is. "Dudeth, I can't feel my nothe, thith ith thome good thit!" :rolleyes:

If you can get good stuff it's kind of enjoyable but ultimately pointless. I really don't see how people get addicted, it's not all that.

For the same reason people get addicted to alcohol and heroin...not necessarily because they enjoy it too much!
