I got a bollicking for the same thing awhile ago and he said it's cos it blinds oncoming drivers.

I was never much of an MS Word user, but I think it stores documents you're working on as temp files somewhere. When it shuts down normally, it deletes them, but with a crash it doesn't get a chance to, so they might still be there. Do a Google for their location, but it's probably somewhere in the hidden applications folder in My Documents.

Scant consolation now, but switch on the autosave feature - it'll save your work at regular intervals.

Are they on a seperate switch? Do they come on once you switch on your headlights?
If they are on a seperate switch i.e on my Gold GT they are on the headlight switch on the right (seperate from other lights) they are classed as foglights :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,124 ✭✭✭moggser

they are on the main headlight switch i.e put the parks on and pull switch out towards ya and they come on and pull it again and the rear fogs come on

ah sure one up to the laws im puttin them on when i want lol

Same here its a stupid law. Espically when you see people driving around with no lights at all.

Yea they would be clased as fogs. Same in my golf. Twist to turn on headlights. Pull out for front fogs.

I don't use the fogs in the day, just when it's rain or fog. Never annoys me when i see people with their front fogs on. It's only the rear fog that annoys me and thats because it messes up the brakelight. :)

While we're all in troubleshooting mode tonight, is anyone else having difficulty accessing the IAA's forums over the last week or so? Every time I try to access them, I get a "cannot display the webpage" error message, and it's getting frustrating.

It's probably IE that's the problem, I'll give Google Chrome a lash later.

Incidentally, as I was submitting v1 of this post, I got another error message, so it's more than likely IE.

Fog lamps should only be used when visibility is reduced i.e. Fog,snowing or heavy rain.

Very few cars are fitted with spot lamps as standard.

If the lamps are under the bumper they are fog lamps and may not be used instead of dipped headlamps.

I am not sure if there is a specific offence, you may get done for "driving without due consideration" or "careless driving"

If you thought you needed to put lights on why not just put dipped headlamps on?

The rules of the road have this info.

    It is available online http://www.rulesoftheroad.ie/pdf-downloads/english/rules-of-the-road%20eng.pdf

    Bottom of page 33
    Hope this helps clarify

Hmmm, I think my M4 is silly enough to allow me to join FRAG, the hi-cap couldn't keep up with it at all, not bad for an 8.4V...

Hey Lefty, as you know, I'm new to all this - can you explain that a bit further please? trying to get a handle on the forum and all :)

    Certainly Steve :)
My M4 is firing out rougly 25 rps (rounds per second) the hicap relying on a silly feed system, you turn a wheel at the bottom and BBs are fed into the feed tube in the mag and put under tension by a spring winder, similar to the one found in a tape measure. But the you only get so many rounds out before you must wind again. In short as the gearbox cycles, the bb's aren't getting out of the mag fast enough.

FRAG - A team known for high rate of fire aegs and such.
That any clearer for you Steve? I'll try explain better later, or one of the lads will, at the moment my brain is fried from chemistry notes and such.

The fact that you're using IE saddens me.

So really what you're saying is your M4 is 'silly' because it doesn't work properly?
By that, are you implying that FRAG members themselves are 'silly' or are you saying that they all have 'silly' guns?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

He's saying the rate of fire is silly. 25 rounds per second is quite high for an AEG running on an 8.4V battery. Silly has become a colloquial term, synonymous with being high in performance value for such upgrades in airsoft. For example, "his AEG has a silly rate of fire on 8.4V, mine only becomes silly on LiPo", or "the range on that rifle is silly".
FRAG members (some, not all) are known for their use of high rate of fire set-ups. It's not at all an inference on their users. Rather, what Lefty is saying, is that a FRAG member with such a set up would be quite proud of Leftys creation, they being regarded somewhat as the connisseurs of such things.

Yep, Steve - what Dex said seems to be a sensible 'translation' of what Lefty was failing to get across. However Lefty isn't taking into account that FRAG don't have any Emo-kids in their team so he might not fit in so well.....

I don't believe his excuse that his chemistry notes had fried his brain. That would probably be down to the cans of Dutch Gold he shotgunned before he started his college assignment. Kids these days.....pfft...
