The Nascars are evil, evil things. Dear god, it's impossible to get around Daytona without one of them wrecking ya.

If you've dismissed the B-Spec you really should reconsider it, some of the bonus cars are well worth it such as:

    Mazda Furai Concept 08 - 487BHP and just 675kg.

That car looks good, but not worth sitting through hours of b spec.

Just get your driver into the race, surf the web and check back with him when he's done! I leave him racing when I've other things to do.

How do you get the classic cars needed for the races in the beginner series:confused:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 23,248 ✭✭✭✭2smiggy

i also need the classic cars for the beginner races !!

is it easy to send cars to other people ? have not tried yet but surely someone has some old classic cars clogging up there garage :D

bought the DF GT wheel , but there is a delay with the wheel stand pro so instead of ordering i might try to make something up myself for it. have not used it yet as have nothing suitable at the moment :(

Just keep an eye on the Used Car Dealership for the classics. It's random so they don't appear very often.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,605 ✭✭✭Fizman

I bought an old Alfa that popped up in the used section and put a few quid into it, but I also won a Buick 62' in Amateur somewhere that is a total monster. May be possible to plough on through Amateur and win that before coming back and cleaning up with it.

Just had a look at the trophy list a while ago. Easily 100+ hours required by the looks of it. There are some nasty looking ones.

some great news for those of you who are looking forward to the signature edition mercedes competition. not! :p
We’re pleased to reveal that the competition will be based on GT5’s ‘B-Spec Mode’, so any Signature Edition owners should be sure to start levelling up their B-Spec drivers now in preparation.

How long does it take to get that car?

Not that long at all. You get it for winning the Mazda MX-5 championship in B-Spec.

I think I'll give the Action Spec a miss in favour of the Boredom Spec today. ;) For as long as I can, anyway.

How are people doing regarding the licenses?

Oh, and what races are 'unlocked' once you pass them? I only passed the A license last night, but hadn't noticed anywhere else in the game telling me that I needed X license to be able to perform.

I'm stuck on IA-10, I get disqualified every single time, and sometimes for very frustrating reasons (like AI drivers hitting off me). I'll manage it eventually. Dunno how I'll manage when I have to go back and gold everything...

Passing the licenses doesn't unlock races as that is done on an experience basis. The licences unlock the 'Special' segments.

Been playing this since release and have been lovin it. so just finished all the licences today have a good chunk of the special events done up to my current level 15 gonna hit the A spec races soon haven't done one yet lol!

So far only 2 proper problems i can see with the game.

    1. The AI is terrible, it like racing trains on a track and if your in their way all they do is try to drive straight through you no mater what its a bit of a let down The odd time the AI decides to race.

    2. The disqualification rules seem to be a bit random/stupid, sometimes you can tap cars and sometimes you can wallop em then sometimes the second you scrape one your done or if your on the inside and the stupid AI hits you as you turn your disqualified wtf!

Other than those 2 things (oh and the stupid intermediate top gear test track race) the game is fantastic imo
Agree with this, I love the game but the AI is woeful. Surely after 5 years they could have came up with better ai?

I haven't actually played online yet. What's it like? Is everyone using F1 Ferraris, or can you restrict car type?

You sure about that? I had only the B license done and I was pretty much able to open all Special Events that my experience allowed, which was up to level 15/second last special event.

Hmnn I'm pretty sure but can't be 100% certain. In fact I could well be wrong and don't hesitate to point it out if I am!

(Late night last night as I won a Veyron and wanted to put it through its paces)

Its not bad, does depend on the server you join etc, but its pretty decent yeah.

You can't pick the f1 cars unless you have bought it in the single player game. You can carry any car you've gotton from SP into MP if you put them in your favorites list.

Otherwise there is a limited list of cars you can choose from (all the ones from the arcade mode I think)

The host can put all sorts of limitations on so people end up with similar powered cars.

Theres also shuffle mode, which is pretty fun, the game gives everyone a random car (ones you'd find in the 2nd hand dealership) for each race. Similar in spec etc.

There are some people hosting though who run no settings at all and as a result you'll see some retarded races with Zondas , Nascars and civics all in the same race...

Yeah the Buick Special 62'. It is like 550bhp or something. It really is amonster, it's fast, but handles like a bloody elephant in heat :p

Maybe it's just me then. I used it for one of the classic car events in amatuer. I got gold on 2 of the races (Laguna seca & Suzuka i think) but whe nit came to Monza, i couldn't get 1st for the life of me. I think i just scraped a bronze in it.

Everyone has different opinions, like some people say that the Bugatti has alright handling but I think its ****e.

Ive yet to try the Buick as ive only used it in B-Spec but in GT4 it was a beast :D

I'm wrong - it was in the SuperCar Nostalgia Cup, I got gold on Rome and Laguna Seca but couldnt manage it on the Suzuka Circuit

This game had reminded me how much I hate the suzuka circuit. Hated on computer games since Nigel mansells on the snes.
Although having the Nürburgring makes up for it, some great fast corners on it.
