    Hey guys,

Driving from Galway to Dundalk this weekend. Normally take the N52 through Mullingar/Kells etc.

Does anyone know what these roads are like at the moment? I'm not sure if I'd better sticking to the motorway (Galway->Dublin->Dundalk).

    Thanks,
    M

Probably be safer, and work out quicker... More likely to be able to get a bit of speed on the motorways than on those windy twisty roads. Its snowing here now, so the roads will be treacherous

my brother went from Ardee to Delvin yesterday, said the road was not clear but he got there & back OK

Used to take the N52 all the way from Limerick to Dundalk and back once a week for 5 years.

    In this weather?

    NEVER!!

The M50 might be no great shakes either.. Should be ok though if the snow stays away.

God I have bad memories of the N52....

Having driven the N51 today I would personally wanna go the Motorway all the way. I felt bad on the way from the M1 to Navan. Very slow also. You will probably be stuck behind someone going slower, not a problem with that but for such a long journey the motorway would be my preference.

Oh. Maybe as a guide to help the sat nav said I would get to Navan at 21 to the hour and I ended up getting there and 2 to the hour and that is just over the 22km distance from the M1 to Navan.

Also, the M4 tonight (about 6 or 7) was fine. The M1 was fine to Belfast.
