Yeah, same here. Mine was on 50 seconds for about 15 minutes.

What's the story with b spec mode? I "played" one very boring race last night – is this necessary to play many of these to unlock further cars/races?

That's all b spec is. Its some team manager mode. I started in b spec thinking it was for beginners. Its absolutely terrible, I don't see the point of it.
Stick with a spec, that's normal racing

The Nissan GT-R is a serious car just after winning the super car series with it. Won the first race with basic 490hp then tuned it to something like 690hp for the other two races.

That Lambourghini Murcielago night race challenge in the special events is tough. You'd want to know the track in your sleep to come first I'd imagine.

If you complete the challenges in B-Spec, you get different prize cars compared to those in A-Spec. Could well do with a fast forward like in GT4 though.

I'd rather cut off my balls than use b spec

Im finding it a tad easy. Im not trying to blow my own trumpet or anything by saying that, but its not really challenging. even when using a same model car, you spend the majority of time driving laps a few seconds out in front. I really would love for one of the other drivers to suddenly try cut me off or block an outbraking maneuver down the inside

only had it 2 days and still clearing the amateur races, hopefully it will get tougher on quicker cars (grip, power etc etc). Dont get me wrong, some of the licences were tough (have only attempted the A & B ones so far) Gold on A-8 took a good few attempts and in a way i kinda enjoyed having to do the top gear van race a few times to get gold. (hated the no contact rule though)

I guess its a fine line, make it too hard to beat races and people will get annoyed. When u upgrade a car over the standard, you need to notice enough difference between the two. Guess its what u make it, throw money at cars and take easy wins or drive as standard and be prepared to put time into improving technique.

the damage modelling is non existent from what ive seen so far. dare i say it, NFS shift was much better for visuals, parts falling off and crashes when there was serious contact.

Damage modelling adds itself in the higher you level up.

Anyone got any good Classic Jap cars cars I can use for the "Japanese Classics" in the Beginner Series. I can never find anything suitable in the Used Car dealers and I just need this race to complete the Beginners Series.

I think I used the Dome Concept 78' for that. Can't remember where I won it though.

EDIT: Maybe I won the Dome Concept from that, in which case I've no idea what car I used, oops.

B-Spec mode wins you some new cars and all, but I'm falling asleep during some of these races.

You win the Dome Concept for one of the races in the next level up. This is what I used aswell

Any chance i could borrow that car from one of ye just until i finish the race, if at all possible???

do you get it from the "Japenese 90's Challenge" in Amatuer by any chance? I might just do that and see!

I'm almost sure I won it on that 90's race. With a tuned Civic. I'm using the Dome at the moment on the B-Spec races. My guy's not great in it.

Done a bit of browsing, and it's actually unlocked through the "Supercar Nostalgia" Races. I'll just tune up my 1961 Jaguar E-Type Coupe I used in the European & World Classic Car Championships :D

you could also use an Isuzu 117COUPÉ '68, with few cheap mods you could beat everything with the exception of the Dome. That only turned up once in my races on world and jap classics though. You will struggle in the world races on the longer straights against the alfa (i think) but soon catch up through the corners

Cool but nothing ever suitable ever comes up for me in the Used Car dealers. I'll just go win that Dome and see how it goes!

I'm still without a pick-up, but I noticed a Diahatsu Midget for 6,000. Thought I'd judge from a lap with the big boys if it'd be tunable to a winning (by scraping by) entry. Not. A. Hope. You'd need to out 100,000 into it and then get reeeal lucky, ha.

Yeah I wouldn't bother especially as its what you win for finishing the races with all gold

Ive seen a Toyota pick up in the used section but only once.

I did see a Toyota Pick-Up in there early on, but never thought to grab it. I thought there'd be a lot more floating around. I just finished the GT World Championship in first.

I did it in a Ford Gt because it was one of the cheapest fast cars at my level (14). Tuned it to 831bhp. Skidded it around each course with no grace at all and power-bumped every car out of the way on the bends. You gotta do what you gotta do ;)

I got the end movie, a decent cash haul, level 15 and a real nice car. Even though it's a standard. :)

Lancia Delta Integrale is a great little car. Eligible for a few series and also in the special rally 1st level.

Hehe some of those races are Epic.

The toughest but most rewarding race was the Historic one against Toyota 7's and Chapperal fan cars. Because similar cars are rare and cost millions I had to use the 71 Mustang that had similar power. Both races I had to barge like fcuk in the 1st few corners and then constantly block for the rest of the race. Man alive it was tough, took about 10 attempts to win both races but got a nice classic 70's italian rally car for the effort.:D

If it is the same, it works well and looks like poop. They could have re-drawn it.
