Numerical Movie Test

This math test will determine your favorite movie!

Mine came out as “Scarface“ and it is, always has been!!

Many past posts of mine on Boards can attest to that and I even started this thread in R&R on it.

I am speechless on how it actually works, but five mates today did the same test and even one of their Dads and it got their fav film, only know one person so far that it didn't, but then his fav was some French film from the '50s.

Be honest though and don’t cheat by looking at the movie list, till you have done the maths bit first!

Don’t ask me how, but it does work!

    Movie Test:

Take the last two digits of your year of birth and add them up to make a single digit number, such as:

    '73 = 10 .. so the single digit would be 1.
    '83 = 11 .. so the single digit would be 2.
    '90 = 9 .. so the single digit would be 9.
    etc etc.

Now, multiply the number you got by 3.

Now multiply it again by 3!

With the number you have now, add the digits of it together to get your predicted favorite movie number.

(If for instance, 87 is the number you get - then Movie 15 (8 + 7) should be your fav movie in the list and so on).

    Movie List

    1. The Godfather
    2. E.T.
    3. Scarface
    4. Star Wars
    5. Back To The Future
    6. The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
    7. Jaws
    8. Grease
    9. The Joy of Anal Sex With A Goat
    10. Casablanca
    11. The Shawshank Redeption
    12. Taxi Driver
    13. Halloween
    14. The Roaring Twenties
    15. Withnail & I
    16. Fight Club
    17. Mrs. Doubtfire
    18. 12 Angry Men

That's why i was wondering why the add 3 step was there.
I guess it's to draw it out a bit.

Hmm... Firstly, most of the films on that list are sh!te..
Secondly, I had a look at the list, saw # 9 as the obvious answer in a numbers game, did the numbers, and hello. Nine.
    Disappointment doesn't cover it...
Thirdly, oh wtf.... I'm going back to bed.

"The Joy of Anal Sex with Goats 2: The Kids Strike Back" :o

What about the 'Butting Billy' series? That was a classic...

Think that's available on blu-ray now. It's cheaper if ya buy it with 'Horns Aloft' and 'The Kids are Alright'.

I bought the 3D Blu-Ray box set of that. Just heading to Harvey Norman now to pick up my 3D-TV to get the full Billy Experience!

I thought this was inspired by the Naked Gun and would be a game to name films with all the numbers in the title but which aren't sequels.

Thanks Outlaw, I got number 9! I don't need to say the movie title now do I? That's great, my secret's out and the wife has just driven through the front gates of the house.

My favourite film is the Joy of Anal Sex with a Goat.

    Well thats just lovely.

I just read the rest of the thread! I've been duped!

    Har-de-har-har

Meh!!! Memento isn't even in the list!

All numbers multiplied by 9 have digits that add up to 9, in any combination.

It's the old "Elephants in Denmark" gag rehashed - badly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,885 ✭✭✭The_B_Man

I got 18 at that last bit. So I'm keeping that as me answer.

    12 Angry Men.

there should be a boards one called "80,000 Angry Nerds"! :p

I'm confused. How can this test predict my favourite movie when it's not on the list?

Am I supposed to multiply by 9 or 18?
