Anybody going to this tomorrow? Starting around 12.. I'm tempted to drive up in the morning! Can anyone give me a google maps location of somewhere just outside the city handy to park at? In case I decide to head up in the morning!

Red cow park and ride? Luas in to the city.

Keep in the left lane after Newlands cross and watch for the signs.

After Newlands Cross inbound you do keep to the left (but not the bus lane on the far left) and watch the signs. You'll get to a point where the road is "blocked" by orange sticks in the middle lane.. you have to take a very hard left here, then a left at the roundabout.. then a left at the next roundabout, and then a left at the next to get into the car park... it can be confusing. It amounts to that you'll get off the N7 on the North side, then take a series of lefts that'll bring you back over the N7 to the South side, where the car park is.

    [Mod Note]

As with the student protests, feel free to post all pictures in this thread without elaborating on the reasoning for the protests. Additional information with the pics if fine, just no political debate or raising other issue's. Forums catering for these discussions: Politics, Economics, Social Welfare, After Hours.

    Thanks!

Yeah that motorway is the job. Just using street view there and can see the left I need to take. That's literally the only left I take from Waterford.

Gonna head in myself, try and get there early. Hopefully there's good light tomorrow.

Just to throw in, thi sis organised for both 11 and 12 on different sites, so you may want to get in a little earlier than you were planning.

I hope to get on the Matthews 9.30 Drogheda bus, to be there for 10.30. Should give me plenty of time to mooch around the place.

Dunno where that is. I plan to just hang around the GPO for a little while to be one of the first few there (and hopefully, if there's a big group, get some shots of them coming down the street together).

If ye see me feel free to say hello. I'll be wearing headphones, but they'll most likely be off. I'll be the obese bloke in blue camo pants and a hoodie with a cap on backwards, with two cameras hanging out of me. I'm sure ye won't miss me.

Snowing here in navan, best of look all who brave it. Wear yer woolies, for the cold and as body armour to get into the thick of it :) Look forward to all your shots.

Yeah there's a layer of snow here, too.

I'm gonna get the 10.30 bus to have me there for 11.30. Not arriving at 10.30 when the protestors don't even know what time it's starting at. I've been hearing 11 for ages, but now it apparently is certainly 12.

I'm not freezing my balls off for an hour and a half for nothing.

So anyway... anyone got any protest tips? Are there any places in or around the GPO where one can stand on something to get a bit of height (aside from doing a Stallone job and going up the Spire, of course)?

Check your route, heard on the radio Ashbourne/Trim/Navan - Dublin is bad, some buses cancelled.

Well Matthews Coaches generally always go anyway. They bought their own road gritter thingy last year to clear their route in the bad weather when the council ran out of grit.

Then the council said they weren't allowed use it :(

    Silly stuff.

Bring your gloves and scarves - there's a layer of snow in Dublin city centre.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,181 ✭✭✭✭Jim

Yep. Wonder how many people will not bother going due to snow.

Heading into town in about 15 mins

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,407 ✭✭✭Promac

Yeah me too - even more because of the snow. Snowball protest!

N7 through Kildare apparently is very poor. Just spoke to a friend who's travelled to PortLaoise and it was very poor driving conditions.

    Take care if travelling.

Where the fcuk was all that?! ^

I was standing around the GPO like a tit today hoping to see some Garda action. Where was all that? I didn't see so much as a van (well.. I seen ye old motormocycles, but they were just sitting around).

    I'm upset about that.

That was up outside the Dail on Kildare Street- where some protestors tried to storm a while back.
