I bet I'm in the minority here but something about Bertie (as I'm only eligible to vote since 1998) stopped me voting FF at every election since 1998.

I've certainly been proved right about FF and Bertie and I have a smugness in that I can honestly say I wasn't one of the idiots who voted him in THREE times.

So who else was smart enough never to vote FF?

Have you ever voted FF? 31 votes

    I have voted FF
    0% 0 votes
    I have never voted FF
    100% 31 votes

I'll go one better and add 10 years to your tally - I'm eligible to vote since Haughey was swanning around like a deluded Emperor.

You'll be hard pushed to find anyone who will admit to ever voting for Fianna Fail.

I've never voted for FF or FG, they always struck me as being the wealthy man's friend. I've only ever voted Socialist, Labour or Green (won't be doing that again). So yeah at the moment I'm planning on voting Labour and independents at the next election, but of course this is subject to change.

Is it fair to say he end has come for the Fianna fail party?..there's just no way they can survive after the shame they have brought upon the citizens of this state. When i think about it this is the greatest opportunity for FG or Labour to dominate politics for the foreseeable future..they will have at least 10-20 years in power to get things back on track..but the first step that has to be taken by those coming into Government is to completely overhaul of the political system. This is what the country needs. i hear FG making all the promises and talking about reform but i honestly don't believe they have the desire to do the right thing..they just want power..and the sh*te talk will start again..as we now know politics in this country its a farce. its totally corrupt..a perfect example is the element of nepotism in irish politics Mary O'Rourke,Brian Lenihan, Conor lenihan..and the healy-rae clan down in kerry..this sort of bull**** has to be stamped out immediately. Having watched live footage of Dail eireann regularly for the last 2 or so years i see how poor our politicians..powerless in fact. the house is a joke..its a pointless exercise. I have lost all faith in the political system in this country and its saddening. We all deserve better than what we are going to get in the next General Election. if we're going to take the pain with all these cuts/tax's and such without kicking up a fuss...we should at least take to the streets to demand a complete overhaul of Political System.

I did once, years ago. But wait is was in the Euros! They hardly matter!

Jim McDaid was staying in the hotel I was working at the time. He came across as quite a nice guy and very intelligent.

    I learned my lesson though.

    I've never voted Fianna Fail.

Always thought of them as an old peoples party, I wouldn't think you'd get many people under 40 who've voted for them.

Am ashamed to admit I did vote green at something or other. :( Mortified. Never again.

No. FG & Labour will take the reigns at the next election. They will be in power during what will most likely be one of the worst periods of economic growth in Irish history... possibly over a ten year period.

When that ends, people will want change & FF will be back again, just as things are taking off. Then they will be in power as the country begins to prosper again & stay there as it prospers, f*ck it up again, then hand it back to the opposition when it's broken.

It's the constant circle of Irish politics that will never end unless there is a serious debate over our electorate system & some major changes to boot.

I have never voted FF and have been voting since I was able to (1989)

I've only ever voted in one general election and it wasn't for Fianna Fail :)

I've never had a chance because I was stuck in college for the last election. Voted with them for Lisbon 2 all right but unless I have to vote for them specifically to keep out those mental SF they will never get my support. That said the opposition is just more attractive because they don't have the same air of incompetence about them. Yet.

I'd say some of the deny-ers (probably not Liam !) think they've never voted for FF, but have probably given them a number 7 or a number 8 after voting for their preferred candidates.
FF were the masters at translating these low preferences into the last seat in tight consituencies.

I voted FF the first time I was registered to vote. It was the only face i recognised and didn't want to waste my vote.

I'm sorry! it's all my fault!!!!

What... were you locked in or something?

Didn't register to vote in Limerick in time and I was too busy to go home to vote. At least I don't have that blemish on my otherwise pristine conscience because I definitely would have voted for them. Young me was an idiot. Present me is an angry idiot.

Good to see I wasn't the only one then! And hopefully people will wipe them out in Jan/Feb/Mar 2011 :)

I've voted FG and Labour in the past and still not decided fully yet so it all depends on the campaign.

FF always came across as smug and slimey to me (too slick for want of a better word)

Never have voted for them, probably never will.

I've been eligible to vote since 1992, and have voted labour mostly and green (although that's going to be subject to revision, obviously). Fianna Fail always seemed to be a bunch of thieving retrograde parish pump politic ignorant liars. Although that's just an opinion and not fact.

    fact

    fact.

    FACT.

My dear departed grandfather installed a venomous hatred for all things FF in my mother.

Which was then passed on to me and my siblings.

"Don't blame me, i voted for Kodos."
