I think some more pertinent questions are "have you ever seen him with a slash hook", and "did he get a €10,000 grant to buy a caravan?"

    I don't think he's dead then :D

unless you didn't read the part about it being 2 travellers being shot... then it just seems as if I was asking if he was a traveller for no reason :D

    RTÉ will all over this firstly a shooting, secondly it's Tesco. I can see the story;

Two people shot outside Tesco Finglas. Tesco has also opened a new store in Malahide creating 200 new jobs for the area.

    Two Dead: From Irish Times
Two men shot dead in Finglas

Two men have been shot dead in a double shooting on Dublin's northside.

Gardaí confirmed this morning that two men were shot dead outside the Clearwater Shopping Centre on the Finglas Road.

A garda spokesman said the attack happened at 11.45pm. The shooting is understood to have happened near a petrol station close to the 24-hour shopping centre.

Gardaí are trying to establish a motive for the double shooting. The scene has been sealed off and a technical and forensic examination is expected to take place in the coming hours.

It is not clear if there is any link between the shooting and recent fatal gun attacks in the area.

The scene of last night's shooting is not far from where 22-year-old father of two Daniel Gaynor was shot dead last August.

Mr Gaynor, who was well known to gardaí and served jail terms for drugs offences, firearms offences and intimidation of witnesses, was shot dead in a gangland-style attack on August 14th.

In July, Colm Owens (34), of Dunsoughly, Finglas, was shot dead when a masked gunman entered the Corn Store, an animal feed warehouse, on the Grove Industrial Estate at Dubber Lane, Finglas.

Mr Owens’ death followed the shooting in April of Eamon Dunne (34), the leader of one of the biggest organised crime gangs in the country, who was gunned down while socialising with his daughter in the Fassaugh House pub in Cabra, north Dublin.

Was over in Tesco this morning - and apparently the relations of the dead men have been sitting in their cars for most of the night.

It's been said (although there may not be any truth in this) that they deceased are from the Blanchardstown area and/or O'Devaney Gardens / Cabra area.

then why isn't it OK to demolish junkies and stuff?

Because not all junkies are thieves, violent, or even unemployed?

It's also considered bad form for a country to 'demolish' any part of its society based on prejudice. Just saying. :pac:

Is it really appropriate to have a thread about two men being murdered and having it filled with joke comments?

The murdered people's friends/relatives etc might be viewing this.

Two completely innocent men just going about their business murdered for no apparent reason.

    R.I.P. completely innocent murder victims.

The joke comments are all before anyone even knew it was murder. Get a grip. 2 gang bangers are dead - I'm sorry for their families, but live by the gun: die by the gun/

    "innocent" of what ?

Gardai say the shooting was 'callous and well organised'

Suggests to me that there will be an "apparent reason".

Lets wait and see. Shall we ?

how do you know they were in a gang? could be mistaken identity.....best to leave comments like that until you know the facts
