Irons: cobra 3100 IH v's callaway x14's

    Am not getting on with my cobras at the moment (23hc and can't get it down) Seen a set of callaway x14's on adverts and was thinking of going for them. Would this be a step backwards? Gonna get lessons after the winter as well.

    I doubt that new clubs will be the answer. I'd hold off and ask your teacher what he/she thinks.

    As has been said hold off until you get some lessons and talk to the pro about it.

    Maybe, but it's the 3100's I have!!

    Which do ye think is the better clubs though?

    Its really about what is a better club for you, it doesn't really matter what the brand is to a certain extent. Most of the big companies make decent stuff nowadays. So unless the Cobras are completely unsuitable for you (say, graphite shafts when you should use steel or something like that), I'd suggest it isn't the clubs.

    The Callaway X-14 are a bit of a classic though, and you probably wouldn't go wrong with them, but again, only if they work for you

    Wait til after the lessons and see how your game is, I reckon.

    I was having trouble with my Callaway X20's, had a few lessons and the pro told me to change them as they were no good for my game. They had graphite shafts and i needed steel. I tried out a few irons and settled on the TM Burner 2.0 irons and i've much more confidence over the ball now.

    So, in short...... don't change your clubs till you have your lessons, and then go with the pro's advice.
