Enjoyed last nights show - I thought Judith and Damien's scenes were so touching.

Any chance of a re-cap of last night's episode? :)

From my previous spoiler, here is what happened:

Mark arrives into the Halpins house to do his dirty washing and Suzanne orders Damien to get keys from Mark. Jo and Dermot worry that Philip has nothing to do with his time. Dermot offers to pay for Philips wage if Louie 'employs' him. Philip thinks his new employment is a joke. When Damien takes Mark's key, Mark finds his mum's one in the dresser, which makes Damien miss her.

Dean tries to defend Damien to Sarah and Leo saying he's not a wife beater. Suzanne senses that the whole community is talking about them. Bela struggles to control his fear. Jennifer announces to Ray that she is being transferred to Galway and that she applied for the transfer. Ray questions what John will think of this. Suzanne panics to Damien about the rumours regarding them. She tells him she wants Damien to tell Judith that they are going through a rough patch and they need help. She takes his mother's key from a tearful Damien. When she tries to retrieve it she hits him with a brush.

Philip makes a poor impression in The Hungry Pig with his bad people manners. A distraught Mark learns from Bela that Damien is beating Suzanne. He runs from The Hungry Pig to Halpins and catches Suzanne beating Damien. Mark flees the house. Suzanne is shocked to be caught out. He bumps into Judith and tells her what he saw. Suzanne demands that Damien tell her he loves her.

Jennifer and Deegan are tense with her and she won't tell him what is wrong with her. She blurts out that she has been offered a transfer to Galway. Esther learns that Dermot is paying Louie to employ Philip. Esther tells a baffled Jo how she admires what they are doing for Philip. Dermot gets a dressing down from Jo about bribing Louie.

Bela tells Suzanne he called a ‘battered wives’ helpline for her. Mark arranges for Damien to meet Judith face to face. She persuades Damien to seek help and let her give him a medical examination. Damien begs her to leave before Suzanne comes back. He goes and stays with Mark.

Anyone know how this is going to pan out?

How is anyone going to discover that it's Damien who is the victim, and not suzanne?

This is so annoying! I just can't wait 'til everyone knows about the mad bat that is Suzanne.... My language is woeful watching this, I'm roaring at the telly, the face of the dog:D

    Whatever happened to the maxim

    "Stand up to bullies".

When the victim is physically stronger than the abuser, then the passive acceptance of the violence becomes even harder to understand. The sex of the abuser really doesn't come into it.

There are spoilers posted in the previous pages :)

What an episode and as for Suzanne, I know she is playing the part so well as she wants me to jump through the screen and have a go at her.

Mac playing another blinder tonight and so well written again. Same writer and what a writer he is :)

I thought Philip was brilliant tonight and when he bought the wine, I smiled. I laughed at the P45 perfume :D

Ugh, Suzanne is already up there as one of the most hated female characters in soap for me. Sure you have the likes of Janine in EE and Tracey in Corrie, but there was always something quite panto about their actions. You'd call them a bitch, but laugh at the same time. They entertained you.

But there's nothing entertaining about Suzanne. What makes her so sinister is that it actually happens in real life. She's so vicious yet manipulative. There's nothing to smile about watching her.

She's worse than Trevor in EE, at least everyone knew he was a **** who was kicking the **** out of Little Mo. What's so heart breaking about this storyline is that everyone thinks Damo is the evil one. :(

I never thought Fair Shitty could suck me in like this. :P I have no problem in saying that all involved are doing a great job, head and shoulders abover everything else that I have to endure on the show. :pac:

Im beginning to wonder if you are one of the directors/scriptwriters/producers of FC because you appear to me sooooo positive about every single scenario on the soap:D Seriously, there are negatives in every soap opera...

I'm still not getting the damien personality transplant. It's not working for me at all. Yes, I can see that mark will be the whistle blower here - at last - and that's quite a good angle on it. But PLEASE leave leo and his right arm/hand expressions out of this quite serious story:rolleyes:

I agree that Philip is a good actor and although there's not a hope that a 'teenager in care' would quote what he said to Leo in the pub, the bottle of wine touch was quite good.

I think it will always have that tag, my mam loves the show and she still refers to it as Fairly .... It soap if it doesn't drag you in it isn't doing its job. Fair City is doing that at the moment.

OK i know i've often taken the p1ss out of fair city here :o Sowwwy :o
But the Suzanne / Damien storyline has had me gripped. The acting is just top class, very believable and real. Suzanne has been just powerful imo.
I have felt so sorry for Damien and just wanna give him a hug :o It has been hard to watch at times and it's a relief it's coming to an end.
I wonder what will happen for both in the future? I think Suzanne will have some kind of a breakdown and get help?
And i love Judith and how hercharacter has developed :)

I think this storyline has actually made Judith finally likeable!

I'm not sure if it's quite coming to an end though, I can see it going for a few more weeks. I'd say they are really going to put the whole of Carrickstown (sp?) against Damo before things get better.

I wish I was, dream job for me but I am afraid just a massive fan of the show as deelite and Captainnegative will confirm :D

Of course there are negatives in every show.. believe me I can complain about the show... they still have Felix ;):D

I choose to concentrate on the positive points of the show (which there are so many) and as my dear old Gran used to say, negativity gets you nowhere and just drags you down :)

I havn't posted here in quiet a while but i have to say im completely gripped by the Suzanne/Damien storyline. Those slaps and punches yesterday(Wed) evening looked so real, i actually found myself bringing my hands to my face. The fact that she abuses him in that way and then has the nerve to tell him she loves him, well that just drives me crazy!! Its also great to see Philip back as well as a new + improved Benjamin.

Also, I just had a look at the ratings for wk ending 14/11 and they seem to have increased! No wonder eh!

Wait until Louie gets the leg over Yvonne/Suzanne (any female actually) - and you'll see where Angel01's positivity goes :D

Something that bothered me last night - Philip's age - if he's 18 surely Jo and Dermott wouldn't be receiving state funding, and if he's under 18 he wouldn't be allowed to buy wine. Sorry I'm probably confused again :D

Ahh I like Felix - you shouldn't be so harsh on him - I mean it's winter and he could start selling his scarfs and hats now. I bet the Bishops could do with a few Balaclavas.....

haha.. I was like this  when Louie offered Suzanne a place to stay  I dread to think what I will be like when Yvonne comes back :D

Philip is 16, I guess he shouldn't have got the wine, maybe he robbed it from McCoys :D

Thanx for that I was thinking there was a law (a real one) - that a child wasn't allowed to work more than so many hours per day or something like that. Bring Back Felix to sort this mess out - ;)

Last night's episode was brilliant!! I almost cannot watch suzanne in action anymore, she is so scary...Maclean and Flood are both fantastic and the suspense is killing me ...I want everyone to know the truth!!

Really gripping storyline and hard to see how they will top it for xmas!!

ps. Philip really helped lighten up the episode, his dry humour is great.

LOL I never thought that Phillip was only 16, so how did he buy the wine?:eek::eek::pac:

    I have come across this:

    Young people

The maximum working week for young people aged 16 and 17 is 40 hours with a maximum of 8 hours a day. If a young person under 18 works for more than one employer, the combined daily or weekly hours of work cannot exceed the maximum number of hours allowed. Young persons are only permitted to work between 6am and 10pm. Any exceptions to this rule must be provided by regulation – see ‘Licensed premises' below.
    Licensed premises

The Protection of Young Persons Act, 1996 (Employment in Licensed Premises) Regulations 2001 permit young people employed on general duties in a licensed premises to be required to work up to 11pm on a day that does not immediately precede a school day during a school term where the young person is attending school.

Employers who employ young persons to carry out general duties in a licensed premises must have regard to the Code of Practice concerning the Employment of Young Persons in Licensed Premises (pdf).

and you think I don't take this soap seriously  :p

Philip could be 18. Not sure if he is. The minimum wage reduction could be applied to anyone upon their first job.
