Can't join game/friends session in Black Ops for xbox?Look here!

    Hi there,
    Thought this might help people who are are struggling to join a friends game or find a game in general on black ops for the xbox.

    If this is the case,It could be a NAT related issue on that you are not made aware of.To check what NAT you have:


    Go on to multiplayer menu
    Select Options
    Press back button on controller

    You should see a list of info-look for NAT.If it is Strict or Moderate then this may be your problem. You need to have an Open Nat if you are going to benefit most from your connection

    A tutorial here http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056029020 covers this.

    Definitely worth a try if you are getting frustrated with the connection!

    so good it needs to be posted twice in my oppinion :rolleyes:
    seriously good point to make for newbies to the gaming world but old cod hats and experienced gamers alike would probably already have nat settings to open. It wouldnt just effect black ops but a lot of their online games too so if its been closed this whole time they probably havent had much luck gaming online . and i dont see why it would be open for one game and closed for another

    I made a mistake in the title and don't how to delete that other thread but anyways.....

    Ya this is mainly targeted towards newer people who may have bought call of duty or are playing online any game for the first time but also for people who know that they have a strict/moderate NAT form COD but would not have the know how to fix it using their computers.(A lot of my friends play call of duty all day and don't realise this or how to fix-They just accept it so I'm guessing there are people on boards too!)

    My nat was strict for the whole time I played cod4 which I didn't realise it.It allowed me to play online (a constant 2 bars max ) and I thought there were no problems with my settings just that my internet was crap compared to others and to get on with it.This was completely wrong. I had more than enough speed on my connection but it did not matter because I was restricting the data sent between my xbox and the router(Just enough data to play but not to be on par with the connection of others.)

    To sum up, you can play on strict but you will come off second best in most cases in a 50/50 situation. I just hope someone benefits from this because I sure as hell didn't know about it for a while and I had been playing COD for over a year!
