Does anyone know what happened to the Madbull Model 470 CO2 Gearbox? I really want one for a AR baised DMR project.

    Not bad, Moggie.

But not even in the same ballpark as Kylie's Agent Provocateur ad.

It was pants so it died a death. Redwolf still had them in stock, last time I looked, but they're largely regarded as rubbish. Especially now that you can get a proper system by the likes of WA or WE.
Apart from having poor performance, no recoil to speak of and problematic installation (depending on your receiver), it also double-fed so often, Madbull had to invent the Shark hop rubber to stop it from happening. The recent surge in new dedicated GBB rifles from various manufacturers has completely sunken it. Getting one now would be like pulling the engine from a Fiat Uno and sticking it into a Ferrari 360. It'll look the part, but it'll be about as useful as vegan in an abattoir.

Ahh right then that idea is over.i dont really care about the lack of recoil or blow back what i wanted was instant power withought the need for charging in any weather that i could use in my existing custom AEG body.

You're asking for a hell of a lot then. Stick with electric, put a full stock on it and an enormous battery inside it. Job done.

Alternatively, get a fast charger and set a reminder on your phone.

Two simple methods to ensure your battery always has power.

That's just it though; they didn't. It cycled alright, but it was a lottery whether or not it would actually fire. Your best bet is to hope RA-Tech bring out something but, realistically, I can't see anyone bothering. It's much easier, cheaper and more effective to produce a dedicated GBB rifle than a drop-in box for an AEG.

I'd imagine a proper drop in gbb v2 and v3 could do very well, if they used gas in the mag systems. People have huge collections of electric airsoft guns already, with a common internal layout to suit their gear box.

If your aeg could simply have a gbb mech dropped in, and would use gas mags, you might do so, like the VFC ak's and the somewhat limited GHK kit.

A really decent M4 V2 would sell I'd imagine, going on how many of them are out there in aeg format alone.

It could potentially, but it would need a complete redesign really. It would need to be priced well below the price of a full GBB rifle though. The sacrifice of recoil from using a drop in box would want to have a price advantage to make it attractive.

Ever had something that refused to work, even though it should work perfectly? What should you hit it with and how hard?

This doesn't make sense. I reject your concept of reality due to obvious and glaring flaws in logic and physics.

What can I say other then what I found
The gears were made of steel and well polished and stamped CA, not cast in some cheap alloy as the sportsline models are and the gears were properly shimmed and running in metal bushings
It had a brass spring guide and the locating bar at the back was steel
The interior of the box was burr free and appeared to have been rumble polished after die casting

All in all the overall quality was streets above what I have seen in the sportsline models

To be fair, something being better than a Sportsline isn't exactly difficult. Compare anything to that and it'll look like a masterpiece. They actually have given budget and plastic body guns a bad reputation.

I'm reasonably sure I could build a gearbox out of Lego that would be more reliable than a Sportsline.

Even a Lada is better then a CA sportsline
My point is it was way better than many a gearbox that I have seen and that includes a few TM, Areas and even one or two G&G which I was very surprised at
Now it is possible that somebody has been in there before me, but I very much dought that they have a rumble polishing rig in their garage to deburr the Gearbox shell and would take the time to polish the entire gear set
Maybe if you wanted an ultra smooth running gear set you would polish the gear teeth but not 100% of the backs of them also, but then again there are a few psychos around here who may just do that, who knows

Anyway the opinions expressed here are mine and mine alone and who knows I may also be one of those psychos I was talking about

    People who have sons

For those who have sons & those of us who are happy that we don't.

And you also find out interesting things when you have sons, like...

    1. A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 2000 sq. ft. house 4 inches deep.

    2. If you spray hair spray on dust balls and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite.

    3. A 3-year old Boy's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.

    4. If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a 42 pound Boy wearing Batman underwear and a Superman cape. It is strong enough, however, if tied to a paint can, to spread paint on all four walls of a 20x20 ft. room.

    5. You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. When using a ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.

    6. The glass in windows (even double-pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.

    7. When you hear the toilet flush and the words "uh oh", it's already too late.

    8. Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it.

    9. A six-year old Boy can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 36-year old Man says they can only do it in the movies.

    10. Certain Lego's will pass through the digestive tract of a 4- year old Boy.

    11. Play dough and microwave should not be used in the same sentence.

    12. Super glue is forever.

    13. No matter how much Jelly you put in a swimming pool you still can't walk on water.

    14. Pool filters do not like Jelly.

    15. Your old VCR does not eject sandwiches even though TV commercials show they do.

    16. Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.

    17. Marbles in the petrol tanks make lots of noise when driving.

    18. You probably DO NOT want to know what that odor is.

    19. Always look in the oven before you turn it on; plastic toys do not like ovens.

    20. The fire department in Kildare has a 10-minute response time.

    21. The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earthworms dizzy.

    22. It will, however, make cats dizzy.

    23. Cats throw up twice their body weight when dizzy.

    24. 80% of Women will pass this on to almost all of their friends, with or without kids.

    25. 80% of Men who read this will try mixing the Clorox and brake fluid.
