We were at least 5 metres from the edge.We did see a few people walking out a causeway during the storm, thats how people end up on the RTE news.

There are reports coming in of a serious bus accident in Galway - road conditions are awful out there, if your driving do be careful.

That's terrible I heard ambulance sirens around that time was hoping it wasn't to serious the weather in Galway was at it's worst around that time there was also some damage to a building near the Spanish arch

    Excellent wind predictive site here

keep an eye on thursday and friday. Further heavy rain and strong winds on the way.

As for tonight. main rain belt passed a half hour ago. Some beefy showers now showing up behind it. Having a heavy hail, sleet, rain shower right now.

have had 30mm of rain since 4pm. It's still belting down. Rain has not made it's way to you yet. Winds were never going to effect Dublin badly until Monday am so you will see some weather.

As for 'boards weather forum hyping things up', your pass for the Winter Rollercoaster has just been revoked.:p

If you lived on this side of the country pal, you might think the opposite. There is an Ireland outside of Dublin you know. ;)

Only 9 kts at Sligo Airport at 2130, but it's very sheltered from a southerly wind.
