So, we broke the bed, any idea on who to get to repair it

So, umm, yeah, myself and the girlfriend busted the bed doing the funky chicken.

Anyone know of who I'd go to in order to get it fixed. We have the in-laws coming next week and I'd like to avoid having to explain this

Get a bit of 2x4 plank and screw it into the headboard so it supports the side planks. Then tell you missus to go on a diet. You wont have to worry about sleeping in that bed again. :cool:

Looks to me like the bolts sheared.
MNeed to get them out and get new bolts in.
Some additional support would be useful too.

Make a Futon from some pallets by judicious application of sandpaper.

Reminds me of the joke "my friend has so many notches on his bedpost he's sleeping on splinters"!!

We have a similar bed, and it has collapsed in the past (and it wasn't due to any activity taking place on it at the time).

Get some dowels and a few very long screws to fix where it broke, then reinforce it with another thick piece of timber bolted to the long piece and to the bed end.

If it was new or newish, go back in looking for a replacement. You were doing something other than sleeping (which the bed should be able for) and it broke.... a friend of mine did that. No lies!
