Problem with Sony DVD Recorder

i have bought a Sony DVD Recorder HVD890 and have a Panasonic Plasma TV TH-37PX80BA i simply cant get it working on record, i cant get it to play DVD's but thats about it. i have it connected with a HDMI Cable but all i keep getting when i try to record is a fuzzy screen i got someone to look at it with experience in this…
