NIQs qualifying through residency to play for Ireland. Thoughts?

Franno does write some good articles. I'm not sure where I stand on foreigners coming to play there and suddenly deciding they want to play for Ireland. We could have a few players with no ties to Ireland wearing green in the future: Robbie Diack, Richardt Strauss and Peter Borlase who is on his way as an "IRFU project"…

Was he born here, if not then no. There will always be exceptions but that scenario is very unlikely. It would on balance give a better representation of the country's rugby team though.
