review request- cyma(cybergun) M14 socom

hi just wanted to know if these are any good. strikearms and hobbyairsoft are selling them i think. gearbox any use?? metal or plastic bearings or bushings? rof? range/accuracy? any common faults? etc etc..:D

Yes they are good for an AEG in the €170 price range
A tad on the heavy side but it adds to the realism and feel, they are also one of the quietest AEGs around and can be used in a dual role for both ordinary skirmishing and sniper due to their low noise output from the gearbox
You can also fit a large type battery in the stock which is always a good thing for extended gaming
As with most AEGs that have to operate at <1Joule they benefit in both range and accuracy with a change of hop-up bucking, I would suggest a Guarder clear as one of the best that you could fit, €12-€15 well spent
The CYMA/Cybergun ones that I have worked on all had metal bushings
Dont know what part of the country you are in but Mid West Airsoft and MIA also do the M14

thanks for the info. ye there a good price. would the motor be worth replacing with high speed one. i have a few guarder rubbers at home. defo put one in.

Almost all AEGs would benefit from the fitting of a high speed motor
But before doing so I would always suggest doing a proper shim job and a general gearbox lube/going over to assist in the overall smooth running of it

never worked on m14s much harder than shimming version2/3s?

The general principal of shimming a gearbox is the same regardless of what version it is
Although the M14 is my least favourite AEG to work on, give me a P90 anyday

i have this gun
very nice i had a hop up issue and was cronoing low so strikearms arm puting a new spring and hop up in

love this gun and the weight people say is heavy but i find it grand

by the way they come standard with a tbb so i was told!
trigger response is good range is good but the only fault is i found it hard to get mags..but you get a high cap and you really wouldnt go through it in a game! (i use it mainly on semi)
