    Hi

Im starting into triathlons now and Im getting a road bike. I have been cycling an Apollo Exceed for a year now, a hybrid and I quite like it but its time for a full on racer. My local strore is having a big sale and I was wondering what any one reckoned of the following bikes and prices. I dont know much at all about bikes or their brands or tech stuff to be honest.

Im not sure are Apollo well known back home ? Of the 3 brands please give me some steer and perhaps what is the difference in going from the 1st lot ( Novice ) to the 2nd lot, in quality value, durability ?

    '10 Scott Speedster S40 RRP $1299 $1039
    '10 Apollo Performace RRP $1399 $1119
    '10 Merida Road Race 903 RRP $1499 $1049
    '10 Scott Speedster S30 RRP $1599 $1279
    '10 Apollo Pave C RRP $1999 $1599
    '10 Merida Road Race 904 RRP $1999 $1599

    '10 Merida Road Race 905 RRP $2499 $1999
    '10 Scott Speedster S10 RRP $2699 $2159

    Thanks for any advice.

Over here apollo are sold by Halfords and are considered to be poor quality. So dont be suprised if some poster comes on lashing apollo out of it thinking its the Halfords brand!!

Noticed a lot of Merida's when in Oz (they seem to be starting to come into the Irish market) so think they have a reasonable rep but never rode one just saw them in a couple of shops. Scott would be quite well known and respected here though.

Think fit is the most important thing, so worth going to a proper bike store for that if your in doubt!
