I bought the wife a new pair of Liverpool FCknickers from the club shop.A sound investment, two yanks and they are down.

Chilean miner making love to his wife for first time since release...'Can we switch the lights off?...' 'Of course honey...''Can I have you from behind...?''Anything you want my brave boy...''OK, can I call you Pedro...?'

There's so much nudity on television these days.I just sit here, shaking my fist.

Just 2 days after all 33 of the trapped Chilean miners were safely rescued, an explosion in a Chinese mine kills 20 workers and leaves 17 more trapped deep underground.Proof that not only is there a god, but that he also has an epic sense of humor.

    I can't wait for next season's Merseyside Derby!Liverpool v Tranmere Rovers.

Anyone know if there is a board or section of boards
    for Robotics ?

Every so often I get the urge to go off and buy a robotics kit and build a robot, but bloody heck the prices for things are abolutly ridiculous. Tiny little PCB boards with a few chips
servos, plastic and metal pieces to make up a Spider like yoke or a walking man, or turret (great for mounting airsoft guns) can go for over 1000 Euros :eek::eek::eek:

Even the entry level Lego that lets you build robots is
250 Euros for a starter kit!!! WOW!

    Would LOVE this:

    or this:
    http://www.trossenrobotics.com/phoenix-hexapod-ut-digital.aspx

With the tracking software you could build airsoft sentry guns
with these (seen it done with paintball markers before)

Fascinating. Never knew the character was based on a real person ...

Bullets, those Lego kits for €250 might seem pricey, but the Mindstorms system went from being a clever toy to an industry and academic revolution for prototyping small scale robots. They're pretty amazing bits of kit, and kind of a bargain really.

The alternative is read a bunch of tomes on robotics and automation, buy a load of servos, aluminium perf sheet and a MAKE board and experiment.

Jonny5 and the spider I reckon are out for the moment guess I will be starting out small! I've a HnD in electronic engineering from about a decade ago yet I know absolutely nothing at al about electronics, I cant even use a multi meter!! :o so was looking for more or less a noobs section someplace to read. I've a tiny tiny bit of experience doing some PCB board layout and work had equipment where I could maybe get a 2 layer board made if I know what IC's or had foot prints to work with and a schematic.
(Googleing make boards now :-) )

If you can get a copy of Isis and Ares, you can create all your PCB's on screen and have them tracked before you even think about having them made.

What you want it to do will determine how complicated you need it. For simple things you can get away with basic logic chips.

It seems that most people just cant leave the past alone. the past is the past.

Also the fact that MIA cannot post to defend themselves here on boards.

There is good ****ing reason why some people can't leave the past alone. Especially those involved with the IAA, the fella did after all create a pretty big split in the airsoft community, a small community, he still managed to pioneer a split and stir ****e just about every corner.

And tough **** for him he cant post to defend himself, thats what he gets for being banned. Hardly our fault is it?
Also for those of you that dont know the meaning of Knuckler-Dragger.
    Here it is.
Knuckler-Dragger " An insult used against those of extremely low intelligence, or general stupidity.

Patronising to the max. Everyone knows what it means, but it seems only you took it up the wrong way. Gerrouts comments were in relation to the ruling by boards.ie and its stance on " defamation". It wasnt a specific target at anyone, how could you so blatantly misread something so plain.

    In simple english he said
So any old edgjit can grab a solictor send a letter and scare the ****e outa boards.ie
It seems some people around here still have vandetta's and need to grow up.

I wonder if the vendetta is being taken up by you. You seem to consistently misread the same people over and over by what I can only imagine is you making assertions off topic, non-boards realted on your own accord.
    Thread has run its course.
    Locked.

This forum has run its course and quite frankly its hitting boiling point.

The first good thread we have had in ages that is going fine, you somehow see fit to lock. When a site director and top dog sees fit to come in, clarify something, encourage we continue with the original debate and lets us at it, you come in and lock it.

You dont need to lock everything.

    How about a warning?

Please return to the focus of the thread, about airsoft and advertising please

How hard would that have been?

I just keep getting annoyed by th stupid **** around here, and what can only be described as pure cutting corners.

Easier to lock a thread then encourage some intellectual debate : /

    Right with you Doc.

I've had my bellyful of this place.
I started posting here and there again because I thought things were changing, but **** it.....its not worth my time anymore. It doesn't matter how many times you try to point things out in a reasonable manner.....its like talking to a wall.

I'm going to stick to my own thread until the subscription runs out and I'll just put money into Google adverts instead.

Nakedex's posts = intellectual and wise

TheDoc's posts = emotional and interesting (if not a little long winded)

flashinbluelite's post = $hit stirring and back stabbing

Doc i love ya man, your post always resonate through the world of airsoft.

i am thinking bout starting a new association for airsofters.
the Airsoft Society of Sustainability; try and keep airsoft with the people for the people .
Could you give your time to A.S.S?
Could you find a place in your heart for A.S.S
    Do you believe in A.S.S?

    simple rules:
    1) NO politics
    2) NO running with scissors
    3) all members must put in the effort to achieve A.S.S's goal.
ONE IRELAND, ONE AIRSOFT TEAM..... TEAM A.S.S

above is the opinion of the Leader of A.S.S (Flashinbluelite,MBE,BA,JE,RK) and not to be taken seriously.

There is this notion that when something about politics or polices comes up that a mod should swoop in and protect us all, put a lock on the door and an arm around our shoulder for our own good.

that is just not how things work. This is a forum, a discussion board about airsoft. That includes more then just the guns and going bang bang.

It means discussing the policies aorund our sport and all things connected. It means talking about those with sites and shops, and those walking into the political spectrum of the sport to bring it to safe new pastures, or drag it through the mud.

We are always told that " you get what you put in, this is your forum".

What are we getting then? To put it in a phrase of current, we are being converted into Knuckle Draggers.

There is a wide array of people posting here and all the needs must be met. Yes there are those who wish to just talk about tech stuff. There are those that just want to talk about guns. but there are some of us that wish to talk and debate and discuss things that are more theoretical and ehtical about our sport.

They are not contraversial issues or borderline. The only reason they are is because mods keep interfeering with the dicussions. A precident has been set for certain topics to be locked or have heavy eyes a watching, which is stupid.

That thread was airsoft on the radio. It is a new thing, and a pretty big exposure for the shop in question and the sport.

We have every right to have a chat about it, pros and cons and see how everyone feels and what the outcomes are.

I'm ****ing fuming that basically the only thing I can do on here without interference is ask technical questions, which knowing my luck will still get interferance and ****e.

No matter how many times I try give this place another shot I just get infuriated.

Maybe now that as Shiva stated, money is being pulled out of the forum from his subs, someone will have a proper look at whats going on here and take some action.

I just don't get annoyed about boards any more, I mainly read it for entertainment value to see what the shower of sleeve-chewing little morbegs that appear to have taken it over are up to. It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

I still get annoyed a fair bit, mostly because its not like the problems are irreversible.

And when I see something adding to the problem thatcould have been so easily avoidable, I spaz out

i agree with both of you, i used to get so annoyed bout all the $hite that went on in here and honestly it turned me off airsoft for a long time.

certain things/posts annoy the be-jasus out of me, but i have learned to come in here and look at the cheap adverts and try to have a laugh at the "sleeve-chewing little morbegs"
Boards negative posting = Keyboard heros
Getting up early with a hangover and getting out for a good days gaming , no fuking around= the real heros.

for here on in i wont bother posting unless im interested in buying/selling not worth the $hite we have to put up with.......

Gentlemen... hope to see you all soon on the playing Field

Personally I am dismayed that the thread has been locked. The conversation on the whole was intelligent and engaging and I definitely do not agree that it had run it's course.
While the IAA have a policy of "not doing our business on boards", it would be fair to say that intelligent debate around contentious issues gives us a feel for how things are perceived at a grass roots level and could even lead to certain directions being explored in IAA policy.
To be very honest, I am engaging less and less with the airsoft forum on boards (some threads aren't even worth lurking on) and I will call it as I see it (I accept any repercussions both as a boards user and boards moderator) The standard and transparency of moderation on this forum is shocking. If any mods want to discuss this with me, pm would be best.
To let this forum continue the way it is, will devalue it to a point where it will just die.
This post may be more suited to feedback but I just felt my points were salient considering the conversation on this thread

Thats Doc if he hadn't been drawn to the dark side of gucci and magpul and had gone commie-soft instead.

If the forum is to be 'fixed'... again, it has to be done so in such a way as to prevent it needing fixing... again or people just won't bother.

A charter change guaranteeing when a thread will be locked, what is and isn't allowed, and some sort of modding guidelines along the lines of less is more would help.

People argue at airsoft games all the time, why shouldn't arguing be allowed on a forum? There are clear cut legal limits to what you can say on here and Dav made those reasonably clear, once we were on topic it was worthwhile to discuss the possibly ramifications of radio advertising.

I don't see boards maintaining a monopoly on an irish airsoft forum much longer at this rate, most of the truth seems to be said in the 'off topic madness' thread after a lock, that says it all.
