On the second last page in today's journal they are talking about the SFP advance payment which will be paid on 18th october. But further down in the article, they are talking about delays for people whose maps have not yet been digitised (ie. The same people that have had delays with the disadvantaged payment - me included).

Am i right in thinking that because I only received approx 10% of the monet that i was due for the disadvantaged payment on sept 22nd then it is likely that I will only receive approx 10% of what I am due in my SFP???

I'm not on course anyway, I know that much. I rang the SFP office and spoke to a local TD. I submitted maps for all but 1 parcel of land with my application last may. This 1 parcel of land constitutes about 10% of my farm - so for the area aid scheme i received about 10% of the 75% disadvantaged payment that I was due and it also looks likely that I will only receive 10% of my SFP because my maps have not yet been digitised. The SFP office told me that it will most likely be the new year before my maps are digitised and only when they are digitised will the remainder of my Disadvantaged area payment and my SFP be paid. Anyone else who hasn't received the full Disadvantaged payment that they were due on september 23rd because they submitted maps with their application will be waiting for their money too.

I wouldn't mind, but the maps that i submitted didn't reduce the area that i was farming at all - a DEP of Ag official that i saught advice from in the local area office advised me to submit the maps and highlight pieces of land that weren't being claimed for but had not been marked off the map - this included 2 ringforts that are covered in scrub. The area that these cover had been reduced from my claim many years ago - but they had never been drawn off the maps.

Another quiet christmas on the cards I expect!!

In my case, like you I updated my maps, by marking in a few areas of scrub, which hadn't been previously deducted. Unlike you, I had to reduce my total claimed area accordingly. To further complicate my situation, I decided to lease out a block of land which was in mt previous applications to a neighbour.
Obviously both he and I had to adjust our claimed areas accordingly.

Now I was certain, that those changes, would mean, that neither mt=y neighbour or I would gat paid, untill we had been both, interrogated by the serious crimes squad, and had most of our finger nails extracted.

BUT, we both got he 50% payment two weeks ago for the disadvantage payment:D:D

It just shows the random nature of the decisions the dept makes. I would have thought, payment in your case was a better bet than mone, as I had more issues changing from one year to the next.

Do people handling chemical, nuclear and biological weapons have as many forms to fill I wonder? :D

Just to inform you guys that 4 years ago i had issues with digitising maps and it took over 2 years to get them done despite the dept telling me all was ok every time i asked. I found out, unfortunately, that getting very angry on the phone to some drone in the dept so that you are moved up the line was the only solution. I eventually get paid on 22 december but my hair hasnt regrown yet

am i right to presume anyone who got cleared and paid for the area aid should be automatically paid on 18th for the sfp

i read 75% of money is available and ready for payment in late oct - early november and the last 25% will not be paid until early next year, but i would not bank on that until it arrives

got a letter yesterday that they will not be paying for Supplementary Measures 8 and 10 in 2010
"as compliance with these measures cannot be verified until after year end> You will be provided with an application form for the measures you have chosen at a later date".

    more time delaying bullsh1t

Unless a miracle happened, SFP won't start until next week. They normally send out a statement by post but you could try ringing the Department's office in Cavan (1890 200 508) - ask to be put through to the payments section and ask whomever you get put through to to check the most recent payment you received and ask what scheme it related to.
