Anyone used this or know of stockists in Ireland? Big media hype about it, apparently it gets rid of tummy fat... I WANT IT NOW! (Im probably far too gullible for my own good but hey

2: Walk more

2: If you feel like it, do some exercise. Exert yourself, become breathless, but no need to do it for extended periods*

*20mins is long enough

Thanks for the advice, but I am very active, I work 12 hr days without proper breaks so I'm always on my feet running from one place to the next.!! Also I enjoy bringing my dog on long walks and am quite slender, but since I quit dancing my stomach has been my problem area and I wouldnt mind if there was a wonder cream to help sort it out! (wishful thinking I know) As for carbs I tend to steer clear, I have a wheat intolerance so white breads and pasta is a no no. When I get a weekend off I might have the odd vodka and diet coke with the girls... that prob doesnt help matters!

My logic is if Denise van outen and Kimberly watshername from Girls Aloud use it... surely it works?!! lol

Your body preferentially stores fat in certain areas. It's physiology, something a cream can't change. You just need to lose fat, the most effective way to do this is to watch your diet and keep up your protein. (slender with a belly might be indicative of inadequate protein intake)

How's your (honest) sugar intake? Chocolate / cereal / sodas / processed foods / fruit juice (yes fruit juice) / haribo.

They'd never slap some free fancy moisturiser on their bellies for money I'm sure.

A food diary, even for one week where write down everything, is an enlightening experience.

I might give the food diary a go actually! Honestly my sugar intake could be better, not mad about chocolate though because I really believe it gives me spots, I only ever get one after a chocolate binge. Id have the odd glass of orange juice in the mornings towards my 5 a day but I am quite good for checking the labels. I had to laugh at Lilds orange juice... 50% orange juice, eh what the hell is the other 50%?! Refined sugar in processed foods would be a big 'un for me and crisps... I love crisps! nom nom.

Anyway, my point is Im quite aware about food and nutrition and the benefits of exercise, I'm just curious about the cream! Apparently theres 850 people on a waiting list for it in Harvey Nics, what an amazing marketing plan, someone is getting quite rich from this 17 euro cream!

If I can get my hands on it I'll give it a try and report back even just so people can have a laugh at my stupidity.... or be amazed by my new found abs of steel. Grrr!

The OJ really shouldn't count towards this arbitrary "5 a day" marketing slogan. It's mostly sugar (even if most of it comes from the fruit, it's fruit bred to be high in sugar and is just the same as regular sugar), sure you get a bit of vitamin c but you can get that in many many other places without all the sugar chucking fat onto you and making you diabetic.

Seriously berries are the way forward: strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries etc. These are so stupidly high in vitamins and anti-oxidants, taste amazing and with barely any sugar for all the sweetness. You know that 1L carton of OJ you have in the fridge? You'd need to eat nearly 3lbs of strawberries (1.3kilos!!! Over 100 large strawberries) to get the same amount of sugar. And you'd get more Vitamin C with the strawberries.

You can get berries frozen in most supermarkets... put them in plain yogurt, and leave out to defrost for an hour. Deee-lish

Edit: also berries are really good for the skin

I'm an active/ healthy eater but want to know about this cream too if it firms up your tum sure why not give it a try, i think i may invest!

That was a bit harsh.

The thread was started from light hearted curiosity, not to make people feel uneducated.The question was aimed at reviews about a product, you have not tried or heard of it. You know about food and Nutrition, Cool, we get it.

Are you a sugar/sweetener addict by any chance?

I eat low carb and am active and I was kicking about the fat stored in my tummy and in the triceps... Went and got it checked, sugar which turns to insulin is stored as fat in these areas!!!

I sont eat much sugar, but am addicted to low fat snacks which are always full of sweetners.. the minute I cut sweet things out, tummy fat dropped!!!

I find Palmers firming cream really good too...

I would definitely think it's worth a shot, I have no idea the science behind these products and to be honest I don't really care but I know loads of people love those kind of treatments, the clarins body shaping cream and nivea cellulite serum for a start, a friend of mine swears by the clarins one, I think you might have to use them all the time to keep the benefits of them though and if the OP would like to try the product then fair enough, there's no need for people to keep trying to dissect her eating and exercise habits to try to figure out why her stomach might not be in as good shape as she would like, if she wanted nutrition and exercise advice then she could have asked for it but she didn't, she just wanted to know what people thought of this cream.

I've read its excellent in news papers and magazines.
I work in a company which also deals in skincare so I've a small working knowledge. Apparently what it does is utilise caffeine to destroy surface fat cells, something which has been used for a very long time to tackle cellulite. Caffeine is also a diuretic, something which removes excess water, so it can help to smooth the look of the tummy skin. This is also used in treatments for around the eye area, to get rid of that bagginess or puffiness. (this is not to say you should increase your caffeine intake, this is likely to result in the opposite effect!)
It also uses some proteins to tighten the skin. This in any cream does not have a penetrating effect, so only diet and exercise can truly fix your stomach, however the quality and feel of the skin appears improved and this is the desired effect.
The website does provide quite a good amount of information. You should check it out, as they also have an area where you can view any mentions of the products in the press.
To be fair, they aren't getting a massive amount of press because they have no effect, they do seem to be very good products
