To be fair I never called you a loser, just overly sensitive. Actually I don't think anyone called you a loser. And for what it's worth I agree that this girl was very rude and that being judged by your accent alone is ignorant.

It's not a big deal though, honestly. If people are going to make snap judgments about you just because of your accent then they're probably not worth your time anyway. Brush it off like most people do when they encounter rude idiots on a night out and carry on.

I've never been mistaken for someone from a different country, but then I sound like I'm from Dublin. I did get told to "go **** myself" by a man outside a club last night just because I refused (politely, mind) his random offer of a cigarette. It's a shame obviously, but it happens all the time and there are mean people everywhere.

    ok,
I know that the word loser wasnt used but the general consensus seemed to indicate that ,ie not being able to get my hole in coppers.

It was just a shock, Ive dealt with ignorance before in the past in relation to my attire but have no idea why someone would think Im American. In a New York deli a guy asked me if I was from London, he said I looked like I was but he also talked to me a bit so heard my accent first. I wasnt insulted or anything, just bizarre.
Ive met some mean people before, believe me, she was near the bottom of the scale!

Get over it and get some sleep you nut, this thread is going far too long about something that happened in Coppers that would be forgotten straight away by anyone there.

Ah you are making less sense now, Your thread title said ''Sorry I don't like Americans'', I clicked because I was interested in how anyone could have a problem with them, but you go off in a mental tangent not knowing even if the girl was an American. Sorry but whats the story?

How the hell does an Irish person get mistaken for being American?

By speaking with a D4 accent maybe?

It is odd for an irish person to think another irish person is american alright but it happens. Where as its very common for americans to think an irish person is american. Any irish person who doesnt sound like a bogger, a nordie, or have a strong dublin accent is automaticly american as far as americans are concerned.
