Laptop for college

Have been given the job of buying a laptop for my sister who has just started college. I have a budget of €500. She will need it for mainly internet and word processing. And the usual itunes, facebook, DVD watching... Anyone have a recommendation of a model or where to buy it? Living in Cork. Thanks.
