Ash Trees From Seed

Ok I've pulled lots of saplings over the years as weeds but I've never deliberatly grown Ash trees from seed.. I've had plenty of success with Oak and Chestnut. Has anyone done this, will they germinate in their first year??

as far as i remember, it can take two years for them to germinate.
