Johnny Depp probably does things like this all the time,but we don't hear about it because he probably does it out of kindness.

Yet on the other hand if Bono done it,it would be all over the news.

My brother met him (in a professional doctor type capacity) in London when his daughter was ill and said both Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis were very nice to deal with. He donated a million pounds to Great Ormond Street afterwards and turned up unannounced as Jack Sparrow to entertain the kids. The only pictures of this you might find are from patients and staff i.e. no newspapers so it was no publicity stunt.
