    Not sure if this the right place for this question.
    I have a lorry licence although I haven't used it for years. A fella was telling me that I will have to do some sort of a course annually now to keep it updated. Does anyone have any info about this? What happens if I don't do this course? Thanks.

    Yeah, its a driver cpc course and you only need to do it if you want to drive commercially, you wont lose your licence if you dont do it though, just wont get a job as a driver.

    All the relevant info is on the RSA website;
    http://www.rsa.ie/RSA/Professional-Drivers/Driver-Hours/Getting-your-CPC/

    Only do the course if you intend to drive a truck professionally. It's a total waste of time and money otherwise. The courses are often given by a lecturer who has completed a training program but has never even sat behind the wheel of truck or bus :eek: Indeed the course provider doesn't even need to have passed any driving test be it car,bike truck or bus.

    If you do have to do the course be prepared to waste 35hrs of your life and about €500 of your cash. :mad:
