Can I get an Irish prescription filled in the UK

Anyone know if I can I get an Irish prescription filled in the UK. Travelling to the UK next week and have a prescription for malarone which is much cheaper in the UK. Have to get 120 tablets so it will save me alot of money.

I rang boots in england and they seemed happy enough to fill the perscription so its all good. If not there is a website that will do it. doctorfox.co.uk

I've got Irish prescriptions filled in the UK many times. If you can find a Superdrug with a pharmacy in go there as they are especially cheap. It obviously depends what you are getting, but my regular prescription is 60% cheaper over there, so definitely worth a try.

Well went over and got the perscription filled. They kept the perscription over there so make sure there is noting left outstanding on it when you get what you want. Saved me alot of cash. Asda pharamacy was the cheapest by a long shot. They did do a check to see if the doctor was registered in the UK which he was. So all in all its better to take the chance to get it filled abroad. It you dont get it filled there you can just do it when you get back.
Oh and by the way malarone was what i got. So anyone looking for that should try up north or over in the UK.

Going to Liverpool next week and have a prescription for painkillers and an anti-inflammatory. Got the prescription few months ago but never used it as I had enough tablets at the time. Just wonder will they accept prescription that is not up to date ?

Is it a repeat prescription? If so, they will accept it so long as it is not more than six months out of date.

Sorry for bumping this thread but I was wondering about getting my prescription fillled in Northern Ireland. I found out yesterday that I have to start taking medication to lower my cholesterol. The combined cost of the medication (Exetrol and Lipitor) is going to be €120 a month. I honestly cant afford it but I know I have to get them so I was thinking of going up to NI to see if the medication would be cheaper up there?

Best thing to do is ring up a pharmacy in NI and find out the price. Say its a private prescription(most of the uk scripts come in under the NHS) and you wanna know how much its going to be. You also have to make sure your doctor who gave you the script is registered in the UK which her or she probably will. Ring around and get the best price.
You dont need to explain why you are buying the meds in the North.

There is a form called an E1 eleven(its to do with health cover in the EU...... sorry for the vague answer but look for this in a post office near you,It will help you on your path grasshopper:p

The E111 form ceased to exist in 2005. The EHIC replaces it.
