    quick question

does the Fulltone '70 fuzz clone have a similar sound to the Electro Harmonix Big Muff

    Or whats the difference?

    Thanks

not at all! the '70 is a silicon fuzz face clone (think dave gilmour fuzz),the muff is a much thinker, and less controlable sound

    i'm a huge fuzz face fan :D

Gilmour has been using a Big Muff since 77 - he currently uses 3 of them! Before that he used a Fuzz Face, so, ah - compare DSotM (fuzz face) with The Wall (Big Muff).

He uses a Ram's Head I think. I have a Russian and have an M9 with a Big Muff model and I've never been able to get too close to his tone, even though mine is modded.

Gilmour is just a master of tone in general, a lot of that is to do with Pete Cornish modding everything he owns though. The same for a lot of guys like that, Franka Zappa had some of the best tones ever, and had a lot of modded stuff.
