HELP!! Ipod covered in TIPPEX!!!

Never put ipod in same pocket of bag as tippex!!!

Was about to take ipod out only to see my hand covered in tippex and suprise suprise its covered in tippex! Managed to get all off exteriors BUT I couldn't get to remove it from inside (where u charge it)

Any advice??

Don't want to buy new one as my boyfriend brought it and got it personalised with sweet message for me

Eeek! I assume it's hardened now.

I can only think of 2 approaches: Using Tippex Thinner to dilute the Tippex and trying to soak it out with a cotton bud (not sure what effect this could have on the iPod), or trying to pick the hardened Tippex out with a pin. You'll have to get it off all the electrical connectors in order for the dock/charing cable to work.

I can't see the extent of the damage, but from the sounds of it, if it was me, it'd try picking it out with a pin or wooden toothpick/cocktail stick first.

Yep! I didn't want to do anything before it dried hard in case I ruin something inside- was considering water on impulse but didn't go for it thankfully!

I have been trying with end of hair grip but will try with pin. Don't really want to try tippex thinner- like you said I don't think it'd have good effect on electrical bits.

my two cents:pac: leave it overnight to totally dry out. It's a very snug connection for the dock of the ipod and the usb cable, so when the tipex has dried, insert the cable(this clears the tippex off the dock and pushes the scraped off tippex further into the dock).
Do not fully insert the cable though, this is just being done to get the tippex off the connection. Use a pin to scrape out the tippex that is inside the dock and you shouldn't need to touch the connecter in the dock. May need to do this a few times. I wouldn't use a pin to scrape tippex off the dock connector as this could damage it - good luck:D

Nail varnish remover is good for removing tipex. Use along with a bristle to get into the charger connection.

Btw, to the person who said to use tipex remover, it's no longer sold in Ireland!
