Riverstown Restaurant + Steam Engine

Hello Sunny North East

I wonder if any of you can help me? I am trying to pinpoint the location of Riverstown Restaurant/Mill (?) which had some track and a steam locomotive beside it. I believe the whole venture failed some years ago and I think it was somewhere on the Bush/Greenore road? Anybody any information. Please.

well yes, thats where it is.

you just head out towards carlingford and on that road, its on the right hand side, alongside a bad few bends.

its just before martins bar, which is on your left hand side.

its before you come to the turn off for Bush school and after the one for Giles quay

Well thanks a lot for that! I was even able to get the phone number by zooming about a bit. Good old Boards again - there's always somebody who has the answer.

Unfortunately the Mill is closed and cannot be accessed at the moment due to a spate of robberies involving knackers. The main gate was rammed and equipment was stolen so the gate is barred shut and has very large boulder in front of it.

What was your interest in it specifically - was it the engine itself or the mill?

Any questions you have I'd be happy to answer and I could probably put you in touch with the owners if you want - good friends of mine.
