    And of course Michael Jackson.

Brad Renfro.... *heart breaks* Overshadowed by Heath Ledger's death. He was a much better actor. I've loved him since seeing The Client as a kid. Raw talent and just so cool. I'll feel the same way if Edward Furlong goes, and he has come close...

Corey Haim too. Just superb in Lost Boys.

Dennis Hopper. RIP ya crazy bastard!

Patrick Swayze. He was so optimistic so determined to beat it, I really thought he would.

    Thanks a lot OP :(

    Eddie.

So, so talented and had turned his life around, only to have his past catch up with him.

    Maude Flanders.

She was just such a good person and so generous to the community. When I think of poor Ned and those 2 beautiful boys she left behind, Rod and Todd.

It still brings a lump to my throat even now.

Not those peanuts......the ones at the bottom

Lassie - she could be an awful bitch, but she saved the lives of a lot of people.
I was glad when Skippy died, he was only taking the piss.

Ahm, I can't think of any body else really.

Ayrton Senna - I wouldnt class him as a celebrity though, he was a racing driver known the world over as one of the greatest

He is my all time sporting idol. He was totally obsessed with winning - probably too much.
I'll never forget the day he died, i was completely and utterly devastated.
Proud to say i saw him race 3 times, Silverstone '91, '92 & Donington '93.

    "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott from Pantera.

His music had a huge influence on me when I was growing up. It got me through the ups and downs of being a teenager, but also because he was renowned for being a great character. If you watch any of Pantera's home videos he did nothing but bring a smile to everybodys face and was a real gent. It was shocking how he died.

Jebus I thought I was trapped in a Facebook status update for a while!
People who are affected by the death of "celebs"/people they dont actually know are just attention starved fools.

And as for the celebs themselves ... I had never even heard of Heath Ledger until he kicked the bucket!

Fortunately it was only a rumour and that talented deer impersonator was alive and well to earn her living as a startled clotheshorse.

I was aware of Freddie Mercury's death, even though I was six years old, and although it didn't affect me personally....I was a Queen fan at that age, but still...I have to say that even being aware someone had died that young and knowing what that meant had some kind of impact on me

I have to say I was upset when the British Bulldog died because he wasn't going to be performing anymore, a wrestler who was popular in the late 80's and early 90's, and also went by the name Davey Boy Smith. When I was into wrestling as a kid I was really into it and despite growing up in Ireland and the BB coming out with a Union Jack wrapped around him...he was the guy I supported....

Curt "Mr.Perfect" Hennig and Road Warrior Hawk. Two of my favourite Pro Wrestlers who both died back in 2003, really saddened me.

I don't normally get upset by celebrity deaths, but Chris Benoit had me upset. I was working late at night and picked up the first reports - which initially was a bummer. Then the full horror of what had happened gradually came in. Really disturbing stuff that still means I can't watch wrestling without a guilty conscience.

while i hate the celebrity culture we have now and i hate 90% of the ****ers i was sad when i heard about the passing of george carlin. a great comic talent and actor but as a champion of free speech and opposing censorship i really admired him. his 7 words on tv bit is not only funny but the social commentary is so insightfull.

    RIP George

So you're saying that John Wayne's death affected you, even though he was dead before you were born?

    How does that work, Ted?

He only just found out hes dead
