Subtitles RTE 1 and RTE 2

My mother has chorus and has a problem with the subtitles on RTE 1 and RTE2

Somehow the subtitles have got turned on and it is impossible to turn them off

Selecting 888 on Aetel makes no difference. The subtitles just keep appearing

I read elsewhere that you can remove subtitles by selecting the TV button on the remote control. However RTE 1 and RTE 2 are being viewed through Chorus and are not directly tuned (via an aeriel), so selecting the TV button just has the effect of exiting the channel that Chorus is tuned into.

Anyone got any ideas?

chorus alway alway have problem subtittle cos of sagem box or enginner station and lot of hard of people complain over poor subtittle over chrous i got rid from chorus change to digital aerial no problem at all i use mvision combo with DTT is better then chorus subtittle are fastastic then chorus

However my problem is not the quality of the subtitles

It is the fact that I cannot remove them....

Iv the grey sagem box (small type) and i done this.....

press Menu - Installation - User Installation - Language Settings - Main Subtitle (change this to none - mine was set to English) - press OK and Exit...

Should be fine now....
