I have a 3 k budget and was thinking of buying a jap import from merlin auctions as they have a big jap import auction on thursday week all cars guaranteed to sell under 5 k

Anyone ever bought a jap import from merlin .. I know you have to pay the VRT tax and NCT it
is it worth the hassle of having to go through the tax office , then book it in for a NCT and having to change the tyres as no E mark on them etc etc

Plenty of dealers who would bite my hand off to get 3k off me for a runabout ..

What kind of car were you thinkin of buying? Jap imports arent worth anywhere near what they used to be, you'd be surprised what you could pick up for cheap here now.

Don't bother with a japper Yaris, huge pain in the arse, you'll get a very decent Yaris for €3000 the normal ways (dealer or private).
