Heath Ledger - Always admired his acting abilties and his sense of style.
Chris Beniot - Stopped doing backyard wrestling and reckless behavior regarding the welfare of my health. Bit of a stretch really but glad I toned it down after that.[/QUOTE]

The same murdering fecker who killed his wife and child before commiting suicide?

His death certainly wouldn't have affected me in an averse way

I couldn't understand a f*cking word of Brokeback Mountain. The whole film was like one big mumble.

Hard to catch everything Ledger is saying first time around alright. But once you get past that his performance is pretty much stunning. Forget TDK, he was robbed at the Oscars that year.

Had to be Dermot Morgan. Used to get the tapes sent over to us when i lived in America during Father Ted's original run. Had to jump through hoops to watch them as we had to find places that converted PAL to NTSC. For some reason a place would do it one time and then be told they don't do it anymore the next time. Well worth the hassle though. Met him in JFK when coming back from a school trip and i was shouting quotes at him from across the concourse. Class mates hadn't a clue what i was on about and thought i was nuts. Still quote that show most days amongst mates.

The celebrity death that still affects me the most is that of Sharon Tate.

Charles Manson is rotting in prison.

    Squeaky is rotting

Linda Kasabian can't get on with life

Tex Watson is still living in hope he will someday be a free man

    Susan Atkins dead

    Patricia Krenwinkel bitter ginger bastard

Van Houten ridiculed in the Simpsons.

They still don't know I did it.

The death of people that I dont know or dont know me doesnt really affect me in any way. Why would it? Would they care if you died?!? The death of my parents, now that was a real kick in the balls!

    I suppose Michael Jackson.

It could have been the around the clock media attention for about a month after his death but it was one I just didnt expect to hear and thought was fake when the news first broke.

Not really effected by celebs dying but Jade Goody's death was a little sad that someone so young with kids died. Also wasn't too happy about Patrick Swayze dying ( I'll leave the puns to the experts)

    Absolutely none of them.

I think the world will be a lesser place if Christopher Hitchens dies of cancer but the amount of thought I'll put towards it will be as long as it takes me to read the obituary.

The cult of celebrity gets on my tits something awful.

    Steve Irwin.

    A legend of a man.

    Darren The Dazzler Sutherland.

Thought it was very sad, especially after it had only been a year since we'd seen him so full of life, so full of beans and winning the olympic medal in the Irish colours. And what he went through, the notion that he had depression and didn't know how to confront it, that he seemed very alone when he died, in a foreign country, the notion that a lot of young Irish men (in particular) and women go through the same thing.

Weirdly, Pope John Paul II, for anyone who was religious at the time he was just a kind of universal lovable granddad, unlike you're man now!

Indeed. Not religious at all but the current pope is devillish looking.

George Best, Bobby Robson would be two to be genuinely saddened, though not surprised by. Darren Sutherland probably the most unexpected- any artists etc I listen to died when I was too young to notice (Biggie, Tupac etc etc)

Eagerly awaiting Pete Doherty choking on heroin and his own lack of talent

Kurt Cobain. I was/am a huge Nirvana fan. I remember sitting there as a young boy and hearing the BBC news announcer saying "The lead singer of the rock band.."
I knew he'd say Nirvana and I just knew he was to say that he was dead. Weird to have that way of thinking at a very young age but as much of a shock as it was to me back then, deep down I think every Nirvana fan knew it was inevitable.

I soon rooted through the attic and found my eldest sister's acoustic guitar and began teaching myself guitar by watching back on all the videos of theirs I recorded.

Affected .. not sure bue Jade Goodys death resonated with me for a wee while.
So young - and a regular nobody like the rest of us until BB. And for her to die of something that is so curable it was just missed.......
I think also the fact that she filmed it to the end, brought (any of us who watched it ) through the process .. it was a little harrowing.

For me, I never really experienced death - as in noone close died, until my Mam, and that punched the life out of me. So when a your hear of someone dying, whether they are famous or not - they were someones Dad, brother, or Sister friend, or mam etc. And yes I do feel for them - I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. It's horrendous.

Jade was young and left a very young family behind. And that is SAD no matter what your opinion of the girl.

definitely jade goody. it was just so heartbreaking to watch the whole horrible mess unfold. i was always a jade fan and watched almost everything she did on tv, so it was really upsetting to think i was never gonna watch her act the bollocks on telly again.
plus the fact that she had two small kids, she was just so easy to relate to. people like to say she was a complete tool, etc, but sure aren't we all sometimes?

anyway, jade it is for me.

Owen Hart was sad given the circumstances. Wouldn't say it really effected me though. I don't really know these people so wouldn't care...

Yeah but she was a complete tool all the time. She didn't have an off switch. She was being ridiculed until she started to die and then she became some sort of sweetheart. Pfff...screw her.

well i never disliked her tbh, thought that shilpa shetty one was an insufferable cnut. yeah, jade lost the complete rag and said stupid things, pfft, so what? like we're all so perfect!

oh and she did have an off switch, she was very normal on her living shows, just a normal girl that gets giddy and stupid with her friends/kids, like the rest of us.

Senna because I love motorsport and especially F1. I was watching the race when it happened. People always forget Roland Ratzenberger who died the day before in practice - a terrible weekend coupled Barrichellos bad accident the same weekend too.:( Awful now when you remember.

Freddie Mercury because I used to be a big Queen fan and John Lennon because I think it was the first experience I had of something bad happening to someone I knew about.

Why would a celebrities death affect you at all unless you knew them personally?
    I don't get it.
