Hi. I used to play a bit a million years ago, was thinking of spending a bit of time tinkling the ivories again with a view to doing a few weekend pub gigs. Whats the best keyboard out there for this at the moment, or is there any general consensus? I see different people with different ones all the time. Budget wise, 1k MAX! Thanks in advance:)

i have a roland 300gx, cost about 1200e from thomann.
excellent board with good sounds, great piano sound.
weights about 13kgs, heavy enough once you start hauling it up and down stairs.
yamaha have a good 76 key board that weighs about 6kg. much cheaper at about 500e.
the yamaha would be a good purchase id say

Without a doubt the new Audya 5 from ketron has the best sounds I have ever heard and far superior in my opinion to the Tyros made by Yamaha or Korg
Unfortunately its a high price tag at about 4 grand.
But theres some nice sounding ketron X1s out there at around your budget price or the older yamaha's and Korgs
