The games been out long enough now where theres plenty of legit 10th prestige players but you rarely ever see someone with a 10th prestige symbol getting massive scores, I've played against plenty and annihilated them as they boosted their way there so have the actual playing skill of a newbie.
I prestiged last night and the first few games i was the highest ranked person in them, how is someone in lvl15 or so meant to compete against someone who knows nade spots, sniping postions and the most well used routes on all the maps? i feel sorry for people only getting into the game now, although i got into it months after it came out so was kinda in the same position, least with Black Ops i'll be in on the ground level :)

I'll only be able to play BO at the weekends, so for the first few weeks I'll be doing the single player and learning the new maps and guns via practice mode :D . Does anyone know if it's just TDM that the dummys play in, would like to know the flag / bomb spots for domination, sabo, snd etc.

I joined you in salvage and played for a few games with you. You were rockin it out with the standard grenadier/spas class, got me a few times aswell down by B flag :)

That's exactly what everyone should be doing, not jumping into the multiplayer straight off the bat.

I think it was Headshot(plus a couple of others who I forget) who joined a session of mine recently. Now this was moments after downloading the Stimulus map pack. He must have been very baffled :P because it was me alone in a private Sabotage then SnD match I think on Salvage doing laps around the map and lashing random nades around :pac: What I was doing was just getting a feel for the map, objective points, hiding/sniping/nade spots.

Did the same thing when I got COD4 and MW2 when it came out.
Single player -> Few laps on the maps and what not -> Multiplayer

I always spend a while running around the new maps in a private match by myself, just standing at corners and windows checking sightlines and the like, and as Adnan said lobbing random grenades to see where they land, that kinda thing, I dunno why people jump into an actual match without knowing the map, was funny watching people run into a dead end on Carnival and all bunching up as there was nowhere to go :pac:

I find its the opposite myself tbh, went back playing single player during the week just ofr a change and after a few hours went back to MP... couldnt believe how long it took me to get back into MP after just a short while. I think the weapon lock and damage dealt out in single player makes you dull a bit. I use about 4 different main weapons on rotation but I know exactly how long to squeeze the trigger for to put someone down on each (connection permitting of coarse) but on the same weapon in single player its less than half the length of time needed to fire.

I guess each to their own though. Agree with Krudler too on the whole getting into the game late. I bought the game at release and only played MP at christmas.... school of hard knocks or what. My KD was a disgrace but then I got into the swing of it and has been moving up for months now but I spent so long getting into the swing of things it takes literally a thousand kills for me to move up 0.01 kd lolz. i know kd isnt the end all and be all but as a personal marker of how I am improving its hadny to track, if I finish a game high or mid twenties to single figure deaths I am happy.

Wont be picking up black ops though, the fan base for cod now seems to make up too many teens who do anything to exploit poorly thought out development decisions in order to get kills. (MLC / drop shotters / quick scopers / scavenger danger close RPG's etc) Its a bit ridiculous at this stage so I am looking for something a bit more realistic and MOH seems to be delivering that so bye bye COD... you were like dating a crazy chick ... always exciting..... always infuriating.

LOL, got a text off a mate there, "got MW2 today for cheap, better late than never!"
poor guy is gonna get demolished for a few weeks :D The thoughts of starting from scratch with zero map and gun knowledge is terrifying now. Although finally he'll be able to join in our drunken arguments about the best sniper rifle and the merits of one man army without sitting there nodding along not having a clue what we're talking about lol

Out of a group of maybe 10 friends in our colleg course, 10 are lads, 2 (me and another) have Mw2. Half the time we'll be yapping away about a killstreak and the girls will be like "a spas? what's an ac130?" :D

Definitely wouldn't like starting from lvl 1 again, eep.

most of my friends play it, and out of the 3 friends doing the same course as me, 2 are people i pay with regularily and the 3rd has an xbox. I swear it's all we talk about.

When we went paintballing a few weeks back me and the lads who play MW2 regularly kept shouting "tango suckaaaaa!" and shouting in Russian accents when we shot each other, even the lad running the paintball got the joke lol

    Haha nice one.
Once a few friends were watching I think United V. Fulham last month, Fulham got the first goal (I think), and one of the lads said "don't give up, we are losing this one!"

    haha "fight harder comrades!!!!"

I love the Russian guys voice, he sounds the coolest shouting out stuff, as he sounds all panicked compared to the cool as a cucumber SEAL guy, especially "ENEMY AC-130 ABOOVVVVEE!"

Playing TDM with HS(think Lakes joined at the end of the game too) on Estate.

The games before I had the nuke set up but failed miserably every time. Next game which was on Estate, revert back to 3-5-7 set up......... 25-0

    *sigh*

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,127 ✭✭✭✭Leeg17

Kinda like yours Ade but I had 7-11-25 on for a few games last night. Got to harriers a few times, didn't get past it much really.

Had 3-4-5 in Afghan TDM, got 11-0 without setting off even a UAV. Team were horrid aswell, not one shot down any air support or stayed inside when it was out :(

I think a good 50% of a nuke is based on the enemy team, how fast they shoot it down (if at all), and if they're smart and stay inside or are easy picking running in the open.

Yep I'm the exact same, no matter what I do I practically miss an entire clip at person no more than a few feet with me. The fact on all my profiles I've barely got more than 50 kills(if even that) with the Glocks probably doesn't help but meh, cba'ed with them. Akimbo Raffica's on the other hand... :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,686 ✭✭✭Kersmash

i just unloicked the akimbo rafficas and i swear to christ they must be glitched for me, i can't get a kill with them. i think i'm just gonna stick with pistols or shotguns as my secondary.

Ah stop! With extended mags and scavenger you get something like 12 shots out of it at a time. The range is crap but my god if you meet someone in vacant its no contest at all!

Pity about the iron sights though, tis like peering through a pin head.

I love if a UAV is up and you know someone is right around the corner or camping, start firing as you're running around it and watch them freak out lol, I've only realise how much of a joke Painkiller is when it comes to some guns, it took five, FIVE! close range shots from the AA-12 to put a guy down last night, and I had stopping power on,hitmarkers with all but the last one, how ridiculous is that.

And to that fcuker on Bailout who had painkiller AND last stand (the perk) on, what the hell?! hitmarker, hitmarker, hitmarker, hitmarker, last stand, finally dies

Racked up 300 odd kills in the last 2/3 nights with it, was great fun. The AA12 was my first shotgun but over the last 2 prestiges I've used the Spas - great in most situations but the AA12 is much more likely to clear a whole room/people running into that warehouse near the high spawn on Quarry (triple kill ftw). Extended mags here I come!

You can delete it from your HDD if you want to get rid of it badly, and can re-download it again.

I hate hate hate haaaate fuel, I usually just plonk myself on the giant rock and pick people off going for the glitch rock, dont bother my arse going into the buildings, stupid fcuking map, ever play domination on it? its so bloody big everyone just takes one flag after another and it circles around, you can never make it to the flags in time if ones if being captured on you. Carnival is a bit meh, have had some brilliant games on it, its a good FFA map as its not too big and the booster spots are easily found. Strike I'm warming to, hated it at first but with the right gametype its fun, way too easy to spawntrap though, as are most of the COD4 levels.
