Painting an old slate fire hearth

    Hi

I have a slate hearth with natural contours i.e. bumpy and uneven.

It's got quite discoloured and stained over the years and I was thinking of painting it to spruce it up.

Can anyone suggest what type of paint I should use. I've been trawling the web but can't find anything specific.

    Many thanks !

Had a similar hearth & painted it black with heat resistant stove paint, available from most DIY stores - worked a treat.
