using ip4 as sat nav

is anyone using their ip4 as a sat nav and is it any good,?

i have seen the tom tom app for 59 euro, does any one know is it any good or is there a better one for ireland.

I've been using it with the Navigon Europe App. I am happy enough with it that I gave away my Garmin as I couldn't see any reason to keep it with the iPhone doing the job so well (better in some situations than the Garmin!)

It is great as a sat nav.

Using it with Navigon, works great.

I just started using the TomTom app on my iphone and it is very good at what it does so I am selling my regular Garmin satnav now.

Using the 3GS with Navigon, just bought a holder and a charger (an absolute necessity - you have the battery drained in no time otherwise!). Gave garmin to the missus but it's now in her glovebox and she's using Navigon on her mobile too.

One of the best features is the Google search...

Try skobbler lite. Uses Open Maps, so pretty recent map data.

And it has the slight advantage over Tom Tom that its completely free

Are you sure it's called skobbler? I've tried searching the US and Irish store & can't find it.

Only google maps or bing maps are going to eat your bandwidth as they download maps on the fly. Skobbler has it's own maps that you get when you download it.
