    Hey Guys,

Just wondering is there a simple way to get your Itunes library from your old laptop onto your new one?? Being without my Ipod is driving me mad!

    heya

as far as i'm aware, you have to back your library up onto discs and then install itunes on the new laptop. then put each disc into the new laptop and all your music should be there :)

I did this when i changed computers a year ago not sure if its the same now

Do you have a backup? An external hard disc is the ideal method. You should backup your stuff and restoring is then a simple routine.

Otherwise you can hook up your two machines via a cable/wireless over a router. Open My Documents > My Music > iTunes on the old machine. Copy the folder. Open My Documents > My Music on the new machine. Paste the folder (iTunes) into My Music.

Yep - if you copy the whole folder over it transfers over all the music, playlists and ratings.
