Why not go straight to Eircom,they have NGB in Wexford now and are sure to give you a good deal to get you back from Perlico.Check what speed your line can handle.Certain parts of Wexford town have great speeds with Imagine Wimax ask around down there,it seems that Imagine got their act together down there after a poor start and have transmitters in Bishopswater area of the town now.

Hey I cancelled my WiMax the other day after only four weeks and went back to Eircom. I'm going to use Magnet for my BB. Check them out on these boards I haven't seen a single bad comment and they have a dedicated rep on these boards Rory who can't do enough to help people.

In a nutshell yes! The reason they're so much cheaper than Eircom is by no means out of the goodness of their hearts it's because their product doesn't use a phoneline thus no line rental fee which is not coincidentally 25euro.

Yes I hear you say 'cheaper is still cheaper' then let's look at the service. (Just as a nod to the moderators this is simply my experience I'm not claiming this is common Imagine WiMax service).

My biggest beef is the fluctuating speeds. In 4 weeks on the '7' Mb package I've experienced top speeds twice. I run a speed test a number of times a day and I often get anywhere between 0.98 and 2.65 no more. The fluctuation makes it impossible for online gaming.

Another problem is the setup. I have two sky box's and two phones in the home. The WiMax hub has only two phone ports and doesn't accomodate multiroom connections since it sits in one spot.

I hear a rumour that they expect to have another two arials installed in Ennis by December but the way they're signing up customers I wouldn't bet the technology will ever keep up with the usage. There again the way people are returning to Eircom it might.

The choice is yours but if you decide to give them a try it'll take a months charge and a hundred beer vouchers to get rid of them if it doesn't work out. The good thing is Eircom won't charge to reactivate your line as they will consider you a 'winback'.

Anyway I signed up as it's about the same price as my current provider.

You're by no means a retard. The guy who called to my door could bring peace to the Middle East. Now me on the other hand I'm thick as pigs*** since I decided to check Boards.ie after my cooling off period so now I get a nice €100 cancellation charge. BTW I'm pretty sure the legal cooling off period is ten days whatever WiMax say.

I received this poxy service in august it was as slow as analogue after a couple of weeks I attempted to cancel it, their policy was if they ignored me I'd go away its October now , its still not cancelled , they're still trying to extort money from me , they want a connection fee of £50 a disconnection fee of £100 and 2 months rental of £84, no matter what I say to them they wont cancel, they just fob me off , I have absolutely no intention of paying a penny , i'll probably end up in court , and frankly its starting to have an adverse affect on my health

Its just the thoughts that someone can run a phony advertising campaign, not deliver the service and still attempt to extort money from me , I 'm receipt of a carer's allowance and my fear is if I dont get to the bank every week before Wimax I'll have no money for the week. Ireland really has gone to the dogs rapidly

thanks and that's just common sense but at the bank thats what they said i really regret ever having anything to do with wimax , and every time i hear that dumb add my blood pressure goes through the roof, I've been on to consumers association I'll go all the way with this, its just not right
