Rccomend/advise on a river for salmon fishing?

Hi guys, I know its not the done thing to ask for spots for fishing here.

However im not asking specific spots, im just looking to be pointed in the right direction. Want to try and get out to do some salmon fishing tomorrow try and bag my first on before the season is over. Can anyone point me towards any rivers in and around Leinster? I have been looking at the fishing ireland sites etc but I cant seem to gather much information on where to go. Who do I have to contact to get a licence etc? I was thinking the boyne or the slaney, but I heard they arent fishing very well.....

not much rain left for you maybe a lake where a river enters? Perhaps screebe, ballinahinch or fermoyle and the likes??
