Yep, i'm around on Saturday morning and plan to do 20. What is your plan for Saturday? I'm assuming the start is at the gate at Knocknamarroon at 9.

Nachoqueen and Grimbergen are doing 20 so you'll have company, my training plan says 14 but I'll probably do 15/16 as I have my 20 miler the next week and want to conserve as much energy as I can for it.

    See you at 9!

Did you alter the time sheet for the DCM on the 4.30 thread? If you did i'll send you back to Laura for more of last night's punishment.

Sorry to hear that bud, I'm sure you've tried ice and heat?

Didn't feel like running at all last night but given my foul mood yesterday morning knew I had to.

4.9 miles in 39.15 - too fast and a lot of work.

God, i feel the exact same, bad form and sick of running. Last night's 5m was torture (purley because i was lazy) and then calf not right. What's up with us eh? Ha!

Anyway, can't get Laura until next week so have booked in with some other guy Tomas to have a look at my calf tonight. Just bit worried so need calming down i think. I'll update you on the agony level tomorrow:o

Enjoy your run tonight...don't eat too many Nacho's! Oh and tell her to mind you for me - your needed in less than 5 weeks time;)

Ran 8.5 miles in the teaming rain with Nacho Queen last night, excellent company and was really enjoying the banter until this nerve issue kicked in again. After about 4 miles I was carrying it and after 6 was dragging it along.

Can't do Saturday's LSR:( have to simulate the issue tomorrow night by running and then go straight into a physio session sweating like a pig.

    ^ Nice pic :)

Normally I get caught dribbling or blinking so I'm happy with that one.

I just look like a beached whale in most of mine because I'm beside a really, really skinny girl in 4 of them.

Aw, that's a fab pic. That's the only one i don't look like i'm trying to catch flies. You look very relaxed, not fair, unlike my red face:(

So your not doing the LSR on Saturday at all? Hopefully Laura will find the culprit! I hope i'm able to do the LSR Sat too...

Sorry to read of your injury woes! You've been very unlucky, but hopefully, the physio will get to the end of it, and sort it out.

Great pic of you and JEmily :) Very relaxed and fresh looking.

Thanks Ruby, I've been lucky really in that none of my issues have been bad enough to end my training.:D

Well Mr. Fresh Faced, how you get on last night?

I'm out until Tues/Wed next week now, complete rest. I was telling that lady i was with last night about you, "well Mr. Slow has this injury....". Ha. Well not quite like that, but anyway she said she could be able to help you as she checks the complete body for weaknesses. But only thing is it's hard to get an appointment with her but if your interested let me know...

Thanks J, I didn't run last night my knee was quite swollen so I'm off to Laura tonight - have to run 6 miles to 'activate' the issue and let her pinpoint exactly where to torture me. I'll be sweating like a stuffed pig by the time I get into her office (poor Laura:eek:) If it doesn't work out I'll get your lady's contact details, thanks.

Well done on the 20 miler. Managed to get mine done on Saturday.

Sunday actually suits me, as I have to head up to Belfast on Saturday morning to meet a client.

Even following training and advice, hearing what seems like everybody else running several 20 milers in training made me feel like I was falling behind in mine. So, after another agonising physio session on Friday I went out yesterday and ran 20 miles in 3:20, The last mile was the hardest I've run without injury, I ended up trying to find mileage on the way back to the car going up Tinkler's Path in the park singing the theme tune to Rocky (not eye of the tiger the other on 'da de de te da') just to keep focused and motivated, didn't even stop when I happened on a family picnic - they thought I was nuts, and to be honest I think I am - we all are:D

Practically everyone else in the park was picnicing, going to the Zoo or sitting on a bench but not us marathoners we're flogging ourselves to death for those few extra yards every week so that we can go out in 4 weeks time and go substantially further. Would I trade places with them? No! - I ran 20 miles and no one can take it away from me!

    Update:

Went out for an easy 10 last night and ran solid 9 min miles, just as I came to the end my calf started to behave as it did pre physio last week so when I got home I got stuck in with a tennis ball - will keep at it until Saturday just to be sure and Sunday's LSR will tell if it's effective.
