    Obviously it's all about marketing, what's wrong with that? There's going to be plenty going on during the day, some great bands playing all over the country and Guinness will be around half the price it usually is - but, this is Ireland, so of course someone will complain about it.

    The Crap that they peddle as Guinness these days was only invented in 1959 (that's only 51 years ago).
    I hate the way Diageo do the whole Arthur's day thing every year when they've pretty much abandoned real Guinness (Guinness extra stout).

    If an aul one waves a bottle of bud at me out a taxi window att 11pm while screaming " to Martha" at me at the top of her voice I think i'll murder someone.

    Honestly? I think its a Dublin thing (open to be wrong!).
    I know in my nearest home town, they couldn't be bothered.
    "Arthurs day is it..? Meh!" is the usual reaction.
