A hipster is a social grouping, similar in some ways to an emo, scene, or indie kid.
The hipster is constantly counter culture, constantly retro. If the new big thing is glass tables, they want wooden ones. If everyone is wearing leather, they wear fur. Years ago, wearing huge thick glasses was deemed nerdy, so to counter this, they wear them all the time, making them cool, if you get what i mean? but the second everyone else catches on that theyre cool to wear, the hipsters stop wearing them.

They listen to indie music like sufjan stevens, neon indian, basically anything recomended by the site Gorilla vs Bear, which is their bible, constantly trying to find new obscure artists that no one else listens to.

they love retro things, like skinny jeans, polaroid photos, cigarettes and coffee in american diners, stuff like that.
