Hey, I'm wondering what exactly does the 'course meeting' consist of in freshers week?

It's the head of your school talking about what courses your required to do; when your exams/assesments are. Something in there could be really important, but i'd say the best bit is meeting loads of people from your course.

"Hi, welcome to Trinity. Watch this video. ... Congratulations on being accepted. Long tradition blah. Academic standards blah. Future possibilities blah. Attendance blah. Assignments and exams blah. Talk to tutors blah. Enjoy Fresher's Week blah."

    I've sat through this twice.

    You're in science. Go.

You need to pick and hand in your subject choices right after the meeting.

You MUST go if your doing any subject where you have options and you haven't chosen yet. If you miss it get straight on to the department office. Or your'll be left with the dregs...
