Sky HD box kaput & out of warranty - what are the options

Just quick one here,

My HD box is on its last legs - engineer rattling on about power supply, but as its out of warranty, is it a case of having to buy a new one from Sky ?

If so, what do they charge & do I get to keep the old one (hoping it holds up long enough to watch stuff on planner)

Well there's a turn up for the books !

Sky engineer just turned up again on my doorstep about 30 mins ago without any warning & said he had come to change the box ! - he switched the 18 month old box out for a brand new one, programmed other channels & left.

I'd spent the weekend watching everything I had recorded in case the old box failed completely, so haven't even lost out that way - rare to get a win when sky are involved !!
