Hope they get back on form again. Last season wasn't up to their older standard. Still good enough though

I loved season 5. I almost got sick laughing at some of the episodes.

And still not available on Region 2 DVD. :(

Still haven't got around to watching season 5 as I thought the quality dipped dramatically in season 4 with some rubbish episodes. Reminded me of post-season 10 Simpsons if you know what I mean.

    What?

:D So looking forward to this returning. Agree that last couple of seasons weren't as good as the first ones but still thought they were brilliant.

I have a confession to make. I never watched this show. I'm up to episode 5 of the first series so far and I must say it's pretty funny - from what I understand it just gets funnier.
Dunno why I just wrote this show off at first!

    First episode was last night...

Most I've enjoyed an episode of it in quite a while I have to say. :)

agreed, season 4 pushed the boat out too much imo, but still funny.

Wasn't hugely impressed with the season opener.

The "alley nuts" and "gag reflex" scenes were funny, but the rest was pretty forgettable!

    :(

Really? I thought pretty much all of the last season was worse than this episode tbh.

Season 5 had it's fair share of duds but it also had "The Gang Hits The Road", which I just loved!

This episode was on a par with one of the weaker ones from last season - episodes like "Mac and Charlie Write a Movie"

Well obviously that gif sums up an excellent episode. :pac: I'd say last year that at least half the episodes I got through without even a smirk whereas last night I had a couple of near-chuckles!

To all the people who thought S5 was rubbish:

I didn't fancy it much first time around. I watched it again last weekend and it seems a whole lot better on the 2nd or 3rd viewing.

As for S6.. it wasn't great but I'll give it a chance.

I just realised that she's one of the hot twins from Sweet Valley High.

    Jesus. You're right.

Seeing her with an erection has now ruined my childhood fantasies. Gee, thanks you guys.

    "Implication".

I'm now living in Philly so it has increased my love for the show haha.

Danny Devito is too funny, him and Charlie make such a good double act.

Hopefully the McPoyles show up soon.

"THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS CHARLIE!!! YOU GET FORK STABBED!!!"

"Because of the implication.." was absolutely classic!

    :D

Aye, tempted to watch that sequence again. Have to say this is the strongest 3 episodes I can remember in a good while.

I enjoyed that. It was clear that the people of Philly were in on that at that hockey game...the crowd seemed genuinely affectionate...as did Charlie when he was giving it the "Mac Mac Mac chant"...liked that the jacket got an outing again too.
